The views are amazing and it's very quiet. Given that it is run by the catholic church as a seminar house, it does have a 'youth' hostle vibe about and no mirror or TV in the room.
Located in the village of St. Peter in the heart of the Southern Black Forest Nature Park, this charming hotel offers cosy accommodation, a sauna area, and a restaurant serving regional cuisine.

We arrived at this hotel by "accident". We had a horrible mistake by booking a hotel in Kandel that was supposed to be on top of the Kandel Mountain. It was after a 10 km hike up the mountain after an 6 hour and half drive from Belgium to Germany that we've realized this was not the case. So we booked this hotel literally an hour before arrival, but we were more than happy with this hotel. Amazing kind staff that helped us the next day with getting back on that mountain to continue or hike. Delicious breakfast that was super fresh and tasty! Lovely hotel room with comfy beds!
We were sad we couldn't stay longer to visit the beautiful church in this town. But if you are in the neighbourhood I would highly recommend this hotel!

Everything was great! But most of all the friendliness of the owner! We were with two small kids and we felt very welcomed! We will definitely stay again!
Moreover, the house is very well located!

The restaurant in the hotel was one of the coziest restaurants I have visited in a hotel, the service was great and the food was delicious. The SPA facilities were also working properly and cozy. The bed in the room was very comfortable.

We had a warm welcome at the Landgasthaus Gruener Baum. The room was nicely furnished, spacious and comfortable, with a private balcony overlooking the valley. We stayed for two nights and ate in the restaurant both evenings – the food was delicious! We would strongly recommend it for a stay in Simonswald.

Authenticity. Tradition. Charming. Spacious - family room was perfect. Welcoming staff. Typical to the area, yet with a touch of modernity. Exactly what we were looking for.

Sankt Peter is a small village in the mountains, kind of secluded and very cozy. Even though it's small, it has grocery options and a decent amount of small restaurants to choose from. Generally a local and authentic German rural experience to visit the town.
The village has a baroque abbey library that should be very beautiful - visited the village twice but it has been closed due to COVID. Surrounding Sankt Peter is a lot of both smaller and larger villages you can easily visit by car, as well as a lot of natural sights like waterfalls, forests etc. to visit.
All in all a great little place to visit if you want to experience the German countryside.

The hotel is very good with perfect mountain view. Although the road to the hotel is narrow, the countryside scenery is so beautiful. It's near the small town of St. Peter. We had dinner at a very good restaurant which the staff of the hotel recommended. Children are running in the grassland and chasing grasshoppers. The hotel in the forest is suitable for relaxation for several days. Breakfast is good.
Hotel is in the centre. It is quiet and beautiful. Hotel was clean. Pet friendly. Food was nice. Very nice lady cleaning the rooms. Charming beautiful decor throughout hotel and comfortable. Very relaxing and energising place to be. Great central location for walks.
The location was beautiful. Right near the Church. (and chess board!) There was a couple of bars and restaurants around the corner in a small square. The hotel was being renovated but our room was all brand new and the other work certainly didn’t interfere.
It was a total delight being here, surrounded by the mountains in such a lovely apartment, with views over Sankt Peter Abbey. The accomodation has all you need to feel home away from home. The owner was helpful and incredibly friendly.
Everything. The room was beautiful, spacious and with a beautiful view. The staff was lovely and welcoming. The hotel location was central. Really a grest stay. We cannot wait to go back
