The hotel is beautiful, in a lovely location. Everything was clean and the room itself spotless.
Staff seemed unsure about allowing us to leave our suitcase with them in order to attend a wedding at the venue, which seemed odd as we can’t take a suitcase into a ceremony (though they did eventually look after our bag).
Staff were friendly and well presented.
The wedding we attended was fabulous and beautifully organised / run.
Dogs are allowed! :)
Comfortable beds - though my husband and I remembered we struggle to sleep in a double.
Great pillows and lovely crisp bedding.

Paul was very welcoming and allowed for early check-in. The location allows for a perfect spot between the nature of South Park and city-center. Kitchen was stocked with tea, coffee, and fresh milk in the fridge. As I stayed in the off-season it was very quiet, but very pleasant. The small scale local hospitably was very much appreciated and would certainly stay again. Compliments to the chip shop in the front, with great fish and chips and haloumi wrap.

Born and bred in Darlington, however recently moved out of town and wanted to stay locally with my friend as a girls get away.
I love Darlington, it’s a canny close knit town, not much about it but it’s got a decent town centre, parks, museum & walks. Nightlife is great too, good range of pubs and restaurants

We were in the area for a family wedding , so were not sightseeing. I would love to return with a good bike to explore the surrounding countryside.
Lots of local wildlife, and not very hilly for an older cyclist.

Got to be honest. The hotel is shocking. My room was about what felt like a 10 ‘minute walk away it was never ending. I got to the room to find a very high ceiling which was wonderful… well would have been if not for the only window in the room being about 15 foot of the floor. Felt so dull and just not nice at all. Staff where fine. The bar prices is that of London and for being in Darlington seemed a bit cheeky charging £6 for a pint.
You could not fault this hotel for location, cleanliness, staff, food, comfort, facilities. The ONLY thing that the hotel didn't have was parking, but as it is so close to the station, and to the town, a car was completely superfluous in order to enjoy Darlington.
Came with my partner and her family to visit my mum who lives in Darlington fair play the staff and customers was really welcoming and friendly
The pub/Hotel is actually in a quite location with everything local to it we'd definitely stay again
