Extremely cute room with everything you could need and very easy for self access and self check in. Ladies at the pub were super helpful when I needed help with ferry and terminal info and the food was even better than expected.

I really enjoyed my stay but sadly my heating system in the room stopped working so half of the night we were cold. They did provide with heater separate but still long time to get the room warm. Other than that we both enjoyed our stay…

Dover is famous for the white cliffs which would have been a striking sight to the Romans as they advanced on England. They decided to construct a port at this strategic spot and it has held an important role ever since. Ferries to Calais and Dunkirk cross the English Channel several times daily and some brave souls even manage to swim across.
A Roman lighthouse still stands atop a hill overlooking the port, but is easily missed as it was incorporated into Saxon St Mary de Castro Church as the bellower. It is found within the grounds of 13th-century Dover Castle, one of England’s largest castles, whose multi-level ramparts sit above tunnels where the World War II Dunkirk evacuation was planned.
Another Roman monument is the Painted House whose remains include some of the best-preserved Roman murals north of Italy. Even older is the Bronze Age boat displayed in Dover Museum.
The Dover Transport Museum showcases vintage vehicles, and the Blériot Memorial marks the spot where the first airplane to fly across the Channel first touched English soil. A path runs along the top of the nearby cliffs, while at their feet is a shingle beach.
The Dover accommodation on Booking.com includes luxury hotels with pools, cheap inns and B&Bs near the train station.

The property is always easy to park free on the side of the road parking bays, and is great for the ferry port.
I stayed overnight to catch an early ferry and stayed again that night before a long drive home.
Comfortable bed tea coffee and hot chocolate and iced water in fridge which was good for taking tablets, I also kept my own fresh milk and pasty cold
Opposite station and local pub 24hr petrol station with shop

The main attractions are the cliffs and castle, but on the day we visited all the car parks to cliff walkways were closed? The few views we managed to get of the cliffs were disappointing. Severn Sisters in Eastbourne were more impressive. We visited a local craft brewery "Breakware Brewery" in Lorne St. Great beers, great atmosphere and friendly staff. Nice pizzas!

We could have spent 3 days in Dover, did not have much time to see the cliffs, but even for one day, it was a very pretty visit. The village is quaint, the scenery is worth the detour.
In the end, we skipped the Dover Castle, as it was an expensive visit.

We were using the ferry so not a lot of time to see the town. however, the castle is magnificent and has a great history as well as during the last war.
the town also sports a great fish and chip shop just one road back from the sea port road.

Ok for a day visit to the castle or look at the beach and docks. Good for overnight stay when travelling onward on the ferry. We found it difficult to find typical british eating near the beach, surprising. Eventually found a restaurant (Cullins Yard) located between the beach and the harbour that seemed to be only full of locals. Good food and atmosphere.

We stayed at The Dover Stop and I cannot recommend it highly enough. James & Ben are amazing hosts, really knowledgeable & helpful. The rooms they have created are spectacular & are spotlessly clean.
I adored the quirkiness & imagination of their design.
The hidden larder is pure genius. We can’t wait to go back & stay with them again 💖

Lovely owner and staff who couldn't do enough to help, especially when they saw my foot injury. Lovely spacious family room which was very quiet and comfortable, right next to the best possible pub - the oldest in Dover which was recommended to us. Do go to the White Horse Inn for wonderful ambience, excellent staff and great food. Situated in a very nice area of Dover, not far from public transport and the Castle.
We were there on 11 to 12 december. Very warm and professional service of the hotel. Main part is the location of the hotel is fabulous and a gentleman of my country Mr. Mayur was helpful and supporting for all our needs. I'm strong recomending the hotel to all my friends and collegues as a perfect location and service in Dover!!!
THANK YOU !!!!!
Easy check in after a long day on out way back from Belgium. comfy bed and cold filtered water in the fridge, compact but very clean bathroom, better than a generic cheap hotel. Was pretty much as described and right next to the station for anyone traveling on public transport.
We had a late ferry crossing and just wanted to get to out hotel quickly and easily that first night. The Holiday inn is about a 7 minute drive from Dover port, right off the main road, with plentiful parking. Our room was large and very clean. The beds were very comfortable.
