Stay was great and staff fantastic. The room, however, was on the small side with a damp smell that looked below ground level so the outlook less that inspiring.

Travelled at the end of February 2025 and greatly enjoyed my overnight stay in the sunny but chilly Capital of the Highlands. Inverness town is a city that is easy to walk around with the the River Ness flowing through it. There are a number of bridges crossing the river so access is easy to a variety of attractions. I enjoyed the river walk, explore the Ness islands, visiting the Botanic Gardens and also Carnack Point where the river meets the sea. Inverness Castle was closed as work is underway on it so visited the nearby museum and art gallery. Lovely staff and engaging visit if you are interested in the history of the Scotland/ Inverness area. Also visited the Eden Court Theatre, Inverness Cathedral, Leakey's bookshop (wow!) and enjoyed the hospitality of the Castle Tavern - nice views! Lots of tours available or you can jump on the train to the many fascinating and beautiful places nearby.

Having lived in the Highlands for 10 years but now in the Midlands, it always feels like coming home. The city is clean and feels safe when walking around at night. Plenty of things to see and do no matter what the weather brings. And the plus point must surely be the scenery.

I've been to Inverness before and generally use it a passing through' point on the train before heading further north or west, e.g. to Kyle of Lochalsh or beyond to Skye. However, it is a nice, welcoming place in its own right although I don't get the impression that there is lots to do there and the castle appears to be closed at the moment.

Inverness has a traditional town centre with plenty places of interest including an enormous second-hand book shop. Plenty of eating options. One-way system for vehicles in town centre, but well signposted. Best to avoid rush hours.

Inverness is a lovely city, we were impressed with how clean and well cared for it was and how safe we felt. Even though we went in January, there was plenty to do and see. We particularly enjoyed a day trip to Loch Ness, which included a cruise on the Loch and a visit to Urquhart Castle.

Spacious, well appointed and spotlessly clean studio apartment in a small hamlet of newly built houses with countryside views, just a few minutes' drive from the airport and about 15 minutes from Inverness.
Highlights were the very large comfy bed, well equipped kitchen, dining and sitting area. Also a good size bathroom with possibly the best shower in Scotland 😃
Our host Lyn was very welcoming. Check-in and check-out were straightforward. Ample parking in front of the apartment.
The property is situated in a good location - roughly a 15minute walk from the centre of Inverness. Staff were all very welcoming and were able to answer any questions we had. Our room was situated in the outer part of the hotel and there was no disruptive noise at all during our stay which we were pleased with.
We didn’t use the pool facility however my partner had a drink at the bar and was pleased he could watch the football!
We will definitely be back!
Full Scottish breakfast was the best in Scotland and there were many other breakfast options. The host cooked a hot breakfast for us early in the morning before our reserved tour to the Isle of Skye. The host couple were very friendly and kind. They also allowed luggage storage after check-out. The room was clean and cosy. We also liked the host's list of recommendations in Inverness.
We loved our stay at Doric House. Great location, room and host Jamie. The breakfast was delicious and plenty on offer. Jamie was so knowledgeable and a powerhouse of information about Inverness and Scotland as a whole. We added sights to see to our stay and are grateful. Thanks Jamie for making our stay so memorable.
Hotel in downtown Inverness, in pedestrian downtown, close to shopping centres, close to bus and train stations and within a walk of canal. Moderately priced for Scotland, but still not worth the money.
