Panaji is an excellent tourist destination for the neophyte...
Panaji is an excellent tourist destination for the neophyte to Goa. It is full of destinations to visit, hotels to stay at, exciting dining options, and good connectivity to the rest of the state and country.
But it is after all another city, with its share of crowds, traffic, touts, taxi rip offs etc.
Goa has so much more to offer, depending on an individual interest - may it be historical, nature exploration, culture - or just a lazy relaxed beach holiday.

For a 5 star Hotel their High Tea Service and Breakfast service seriously needs improving. The staff did not have the basic skills to serve a table. Their attitude was very unprofessional and poor.
The High Tea Food menu needs seriously reviewing.
The price of the stay is overpriced for a 5 star hotel.

Panaji seems like a city with a lot of hustle-bustle but it has a very tranquil side to it as well. Fountainhas and Latin quarters are nice places to walk around. The small, cozy cafes in the area must be given a try. As the craze for clicking pictures in Fountainhas increases day by day, the people living there are facing quite an inconvenience and they've also become very rude and intolerant. I suggest not to click pictures around houses where "photography is prohibited" boards are placed because there is a high chance that you will be screamed at, if you stop there to click pictures. Besides, Maruti Temple is a must visit. It provides a great city view as it is located at a higher point.

Its a bustling place, yet there is space to breathe.
Its a bustling place, yet there is space to breathe. Unlike Mumbai where there is no place to walk or stand, as the pavements are taken over by the hawkers. Roads have hawkers and vehicles. It;s a mess.
But Panjim, is far better, it is more cleaner.

Its a afantastic city if you have the time to just walk around and absorb the ambience. The people are very friendly once you get to know them.
You should definitely visit Miski bar next to Panjim Post office and try their Beef / Chicken cafreal sandwich as well as the prawn cafreal and do not leave the city without trying goa's local beer People's.
Also book a walking tour with Soul Travels and ask for Kunal or Bob. You will not be disappointed.

A very special place! Absolutely beautiful small hotel / guest house with amazing staff who are all so helpful and kind. The owner is fabulous and helped me book taxis (quite difficult in Goa) for all my trips and onward travel. The breakfast was lovely and the roof terrace where you eat is beautiful overlooking the neighbourhood. The area is a tourist hotspot with all the famous colourful houses of the area on tour doorstop. I would highly recommend.
The property is very well located and well designed, with a distinct Goanese aura in the decor. There are nice sit out spaces and lounges all around the property, ideal for relaxing. The multi-cuisine restaurant serving breakfast was excellent with a huge spread and a wide variety.
The hotel also made the effort to know if we were there for an occasion and then provided complementary cakes to celebrate the occasion. This was very thoughtful!
The things I most liked about Prazeres are location, room service, quick service and bookings for almost anything, room and cleanliness. The location was so perfect, it was very close to Miramar beach and Dona Paula. If one want to enjoy the stay & sightseeing Panaji then this is value for money and excellent hotel I ever stayed at. Very near from Goa science center. Room was awesome and clean with excellent infrastructure.
It was centrally located and everything was accessible. But best of all was Deric. Such a gracious host, he gave us a complete guide to explore both Panaji and the rest of Goa. He pointed out all the best places to visit and even gave us a map of the city for directions. He was very responsive and proactive, which eventually made our trip a very memorable one.
