modern, clean, comfortable, extremely helpful staff, free parking, 4 mins walk from the whale watching sites. The receptionist on the night we visited told us exactly where to go for the northern lights, and because of her we were able to catch them! good breakfast as well!

The hostel is super cozy and welcoming, it's very clean and there's everything you need. The manager of the hostel is very friendly and helpful, easy going and a pleasure to talk to. I loved the fact that they give great importance to recycling. This is one of the best hostels I've ever stayed.

We had a great stay at Svartaborg! It is perfect for getaway weekend with a loved one or family and the best choise for those who want to enjoy the silence and relax. There were more apartments around but in a distance that did not bother us at all, we felt like we were there alone what was great! Well eqipted kitchen and easy control hottube. Many small details that made us smile and we really felt welcome. We higly recomend Svartaborg and would like to stay there again if we get the chance :)

Husavik was our favourite town in Iceland. Fabulous whale watching cruise, including two rarely seen blue whales. The GeoSea Thermal Pools are a great spot for a beer in a warm salt water pool overlooking the ocean. Several excellent restaurants and bars too.

Whale watching was excellent on the sunset trip at 7.30-10.30pm. Watched four humpback whales surface feeding and diving down.
Puffin colony nearby too. Good for seabird watching. Otherwise not much to Husavik for us - a service centre with fuel, food shops, a few restaurants and new pool complex that looked good but we did not visit.

Whale Watching was a bonus as we managed to spend 30 minutes with a Minke. If you are driving to Husavik from south, then make sure you have ample time to stop and admire the highlands and also complete the diamond circle. Make sure you stick to speed limit of 90KM across Iceland ;-)

I stayed here mostly for the GeoSea spa.
I stayed here mostly for the GeoSea spa. It was very snowy so I ended up cutting some of the driving out of my day and got here early. Except for whale watching and the spa, there is almost nothing to do here. (Unless you're there at the time of the music festival). A great place to stay though if you're seeing the diamond circle. Lovely views and nice people in town as well.

Husavik is a delight!
Husavik is a delight! The spot to experience the north Coast of Iceland. Lots to see and do, dont miss out on the bath! Very good restaurants. Use Google! Museums, whale and puffins, just get the atmosphere of a harbour facing the far north.
We drove up north on F25 and consideringit takes another two hours to get there once you hit Road1 we thought this was overdoing it a bit. But no.
I instead wish we had stayed overnight closerto Akureyri and continued to Husavik. The drive is just to beutiful to do whenyou are tried. Spend at least two nights, -the point is not to feel stressed. Then continue to Myrvatn.

The room was big, very clean and modern, and the view was amazing. The bathrooms were clean and plenty for all the guests. The breakfast is delicious, the best we had in Iceland. the location is great, central, close to whale watching tours. we had dinner in the restaurant in front, which was great! staff in hotel was friendly and helpful.
Very nice hotel, cosy, big, warm rooms; all needed facilities are there. Location is incredible - just in front of the waterfall. We havent visited restaurant, but it looked really nice and inviting!
Fab Hotel at an incredible price. Super handy location and the chap on the front desk was amazingly friendly and full of information for us! Thanks so much all :)
