We had dinner at the Ristorante Posta on the Piazza Dante...
We had dinner at the Ristorante Posta on the Piazza Dante Alighieri 5 just around the corner from the hotel. It was excellent. We took the little tourist train around the town and visited the three Boromeo Islands. On Sunday we took the ship to Intra which is a lovely town with many shops (unfortunately, mostly closed on Sundays, but we knew that.) Lovely little town, but it is small, at least the touristy front part is. Plenty of choice to eat in scenic locations. Stunning views across the lake, with a boat terminal and a little scenic "train" that leaves from the "harbour". Baveno is lovely and the boats leave often to the beautiful islands which are all just breathtaking! We especially loved Stresa for eating out in the evenings great restaurants and vibe people are all so lovely and friendly.robbertIreland - Scored 1010

Beautiful views. Lovely town- friendly people. Easier to get around if you have your own car- a little too far to walk all the time, and some part of the walk into Stresa is on a busy road with no walkway. Taxis are a little difficult to come by and range from 11 to 20 euro.

The location of Baveno was good for exploring the lake and...
The location of Baveno was good for exploring the lake and local area. Plenty to see and the boat trip to the Borromeo islands was well worth it. Local restaurants were good providing local dishes. Good for those who like walking with plenty of interesting places to visit. We travelled by car but there are local buses.

We had a side view overlooking the mountains and the lake towards Stresa. The rooms are a bit on the small side but we did not find it a problem. Since our last visit the hotel has spent alot of money on revamping the outside areas which we felt is impressive. Baveno itself has also moved forward and offers much more in the way of eating and drinking venues. We have used the pools in the past which are both indoors and outdoors and very good.

Free parking available and 15min walking to Baveno city (no sidewalk so is not the most pedestrian friendly).
