We had a fantastic stay at the Mitsui Garden Kanazawa! We stayed for 8 nights and had great service from hotel staff (incl. being accommodating with cleaning times and ordering taxi etc.). The location was great for convenience, not a bad walk from the main station, but if raining or snowing would need an umbrella. Public baths were also great, good amenities and space.

This was one of the best places I stayed during my whole 2 month Japan trip. The staff were incredibly helpful and welcoming, and even assisted with a personal matter on a weekend.
It seems that most rooms have an amazing view of the city, but the corner rooms are really special.
Super clean, lovely bar downstairs, what more can you ask for. I extended my stay twice, and would stay here again without question in the future.

It's such a calming and beautiful place, even if I came here for a national holiday, there weren't many people and tourists.
The parks and gardens were so pretty even covered in snow and the FOOD WAS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING.
Every place was an absolute experience and almost everywhere they add a little bit of gold to each dishes, everyone was kind, generous and overall so welcoming~
I loved it here I hope to have a chance to get back soon♡

"Kanazawa is an absolutely magical destination, especially in winter. The city is beautifully serene, with its traditional streets dusted with snow, and the iconic Kenrokuen Garden looks like a winter wonderland. The blend of history and nature is perfect for a peaceful getaway. The hospitality in the city is warm, and the sights are stunning—from the samurai districts to the picturesque teahouses.
A short drive away to Shirakawa-go, a must to visit in winter, it is like stepping into a living postcard. This UNESCO World Heritage village, with its iconic gassho-zukuri farmhouses, becomes a true winter wonderland as snow blankets the landscape. The traditional thatched roofs of the houses, sloping steeply to shed the snow, give the village an almost fairy-tale-like atmosphere. The contrast of the white snow against the dark wooden structures creates a breathtaking scene, especially as the village is lit up at night. The quiet, peaceful ambiance, coupled with the snow-covered mountains in the background, makes it feel like a secluded haven from the modern world.
Walking through the village, you can almost feel the history and charm of this centuries-old community. Whether you're exploring the houses, visiting the local museum, or simply soaking in the beauty of the snow-covered surroundings, Shirakawa-go in winter offers a magical experience that's hard to put into words. It's one of those places that feels timeless, and it’s an absolute must-see if you're in Japan during the winter months."
However, I did encounter a small challenge with a few restaurants that seemed hesitant to accommodate non-Japanese speakers. It was a bit of a barrier at times, but thankfully, many places were still very welcoming and tried their best to make the experience enjoyable.
Just be prepared for a little extra effort when it comes to dining out, especially during the New Year period, reservation is a must!

Sightseeing is made very easy with the loop buses that stop at all key touristic sites. The Right Loop worked perfectly, however, the Left Loop bus never arrived, I froze waiting for 45 minutes at the bus stop and eventually took a city bus (which doesn't take suica card, you need to have 250 yens in coins

A lovely city with plenty to see, to do, and to eat. I did a walking tour of the city with a local guide which was excellent. Kanazawa is good gateway to many other regional or rural places or sights. Easily accessed by public transport.

Kanazawa is a quieter city as compared to the hustle and bustle of Tokyo and Osaka. It was our bridge to other parts through our JR pass. During our short stay, we visited Kenroku-en and Kanazawa Castle by using the loop bus. There is lots of good food around and the seafood is especially something to look out for.

Kaname Inn is in an excellent location and is able to provide rooms of multiple configurations so can cater for groups of travellers. We travelled to Kanazawa to visit the famous Japanese garden there and this hotel is a short walk from them. It was also extremely easy to navigate Kanazawa by bus and the hotel is a 1 minute walk from the main bus routes. The hotel has a fabulous and well known cocktail bar and restaurant where they make outstanding cocktails. The ambience in the bar is elevated by the well curated music library they have.
This a very elegant property. Our king room was large and spotless, it could accommodate comfortably 3 people. We loved the design, the colours, the details that make this a worthy 5-star property. We were very happy with the mix of Japanese and Western breakfast, both in terms of variety and quality. Fast self checkout was appreciated, as we had to run for the train (btw, despite being next to the station, the hotel is very quiet). Overall we loved this hotel and we would definitely choose Hyatt Centric again for our next Kanazawa trip.
The location is excellent. Easy walk to many restaurants and attractions. Next to the historic Kanazawa castle and park. This is a very traditional Japanese hotel so the food choices for westerners may be limited. The staff are outstanding and the hotel is exceptionally clean. The onsen was wonderful.
Comfortable hotel, varied and delicious food, friendly staff and very helpful in looking after our belongings when we couldn't return to the hotel due to the Japanese earthquake on January 1 2024, close to Kanazawa train station, just a 5 minute walk. our family loves this hotel.
Everything. One of the best hotels we have stayed in in Japan. Facilities, decor, staff, location, restaurant, bar, value all excellent. If we are in Kanazawa again, we will definitely stay here.
