Very close to Le Morne beach. Good supermarketwithin walking distance. Room was very spacious and had all the amenities we needed. Jacuzzi pool was great. The view of the sunset from our balcony was amazing. We paid a supplement for a cooked breakfast which was vey good value. Thank you so much, we look forward to staying again next year!

During our stay the location of the apartment is absolutely beautiful – we loved how close it was to the beaches and enjoyed the serene mountain walks in the surrounding area. The hosts were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making us feel at home from the start.

It's a properly rustic paradise area, away from the more fabricated hotel resorts. Lots of locals who know one another and it feels safe, if a little rough around the edges. It has its own cultural and geographical charm that seems to differentiate it from other parts of Mauritius. Lots of places to eat, a good supermarket - seems expensive for the area, but I think this is quite common. Good offers of boat hire to get over to Ile aux Benitiers, which is well worth it. Close proximity to the lovely Morne peninsular and Black River Gorges National Park and surrounds.PaulUnited Kingdom - Scored 6.06.0
La Gaulette does not have a beach and the sea there is ugly.
La Gaulette does not have a beach and the sea there is ugly. Le Morne (which is very close) is the only place nearby with a nice beach, but it is widely occupied by luxury hotels. another problem with La Gaulette is that it is not usable as a base for visiting Mauritius, becasue is far away from all main attractions except 7 color earth and Black River falls.

Close to Le Morne and other attractions and places worth visiting, 90 min drive to Port Louis. Island is a paradise for botanical enthusiasts, hikers, climbers, fans of all sorts of water sports and beautiful reef fish, encounters with whales, dolphins etc.very friendly lovely locals and I felt very safe at all times, safer than in European many places. Please do book with local people, not all inclusive international resorts without local feel.

The clear water at the beach was exelent. The clearest seewater I have seen on the hole island! The surounding with the mountains are great. The beach is clean. No waist is liing around. Kite surfing ist also the place to be! Restaurant Chalets Chamarel has a great view. Hard to find. Food to expensive and not good!!FreudemannSwitzerland - Scored 1010

not a typical tourist destination. However, great spot for trips and quiet place to chill before trips around the island - which is pretty easy to travel around. Great choice for families and backpackers like myself

Very spacious, comfy beds, has everything you need (aircon, fridge, oven, stove, barbecue, parking, free wifi). The host is super responsive on WhatsApp and email. The location is very accessible. We didn't hire a car, the village is 15 minutes walk and the bus stops right outside the house. We loved the bus, so cheap and easy. Thanks so much for an amazing stay, we loved Mauritius and hope to be back!

You will be just a few minutes from the big food store, restaurants, 15min drive to kite spots. The apartment has a beautiful terrace. We really enjoyed our stay here. I can recomment it 100%! You can also see water and mountains from the terrace, apartment is spacious, AC working perfectly.

La Gaulette you can buy fresh vegetables and fruits. Apartment large, comfortable, with balcony, air conditioning and most importantly kitchen. It had everything we needed.
