Our room (202) had an absolutely stunning position looking out over the bathing pools to the sea. The room is right next to the breakfast area, which might be a bit of a problem if you were sitting out on your balcony, but in November we had all the doors closed and didn't hear a thing. It was great to be able to leave our luggage at reception, as we arrived before the room was ready, and when we checked in we were given a welcome drink. Also when we left, we were given a complimentary pot of local jam.

Very big, clean and comfortable house (2 floors). Patio with sofa to sit outside.
The place was quite crowded even of the main season.
The place was quite crowded even of the main season. During the TOP season it will be not a good choice for me. But was nice for a short off-season stay. The weather on the north of the island is a bit less sunny.

Porto Moniz a little town, with great natural features.
Porto Moniz a little town, with great natural features.
They have a guarded beach and a free natural pool. Both was really good experience!
There are some restaurant, but they looks really touristy and had a bad review on any platform. The few place which had a good review and great service usually crowded and closing really early.
There are a lot of (paid) parking place, but in good weather fill up quickly because the beach visitors.

Nice city, good place for swimming.
Nice city, good place for swimming. We stayed half day and for us it was enough as we are not used to lay by the water all day. Bought some food and cooked it at the apartment. Went for running to see sunset (not best idea) as we ran 500m up :)

Loved the sea pools, with cafe for after swim drinks. and the peaceful evening walks. Easy to catch a bus further afield. Harder to get to levada walks than I expected, and I would avoid the ones that come back down steep hills to coast - rough and dangerous surfaces

This is not a sand beach vacation.
This is not a sand beach vacation. There are tidal pools to swim in if the weather cooperates. Be aware that the north side of the island is cooler and more likely to rain. We enjoyed our 2 night stay by the ocean but that was enough

Very good base to explore north-west side of the island

Nice option if you want to cool down in the pool-there are actually 2 spots with ocean water, one more natural than the other, both can have better tourism services and catering options

The hotel is run by a family. It's nice and cosy, clean, bathroom of good size, and we had a balcony overlooking the sea. It is 2-3 minutes walking to the free (old) natural pools, and around 5 minutes walking to the new (paid) ones. You are right on the main street with restaurants and Christmas lights in Porto Moniz. Breakfast was good, although a bit inconvenient that they only served it from 9 to 10 - but we planned around that!
The room was quite spacious and comfortable, with a great view over the harbour and along the coast. The roof top pool area was nice too. Porto Moniz is a small place anyway, but the location of the hotel was great. We had an excellent evening meal and the venison was very good.
Very nice a modern accommodation in nicely renovated village house. Nice garden around. Celina was very pleasant and helpful host. Nice location above Porto Moniz - good staring point for trips on north west coast of Madeira.
We had a great two nights stay as part of our tour of Madeira Island. The hotel was great, very well situated in Porto Moniz. The parking and indoor pool were a real plus that made our stay easy and comfortable.
The view was excellent, location spot on and it felt really homely and inviting. We wanted to stay longer but it was booked out!
Highly recommend this place, perfect base in Porto moniz
