FAQs about hotels in Bucharest

Where Modern Meets Old

A fascinating mix of old and new, Bucharest is one of those cities where you can find a futuristic structure of glass and steel next to an old church, separated by a Communist-style massive edifice. Not overwhelmed by its dark past, the city is now turning its optimistic face towards the West.

Undergoing constant modernisation processes, the city continually changes and new modern structures pop up in the city centre and beyond. Great examples are the stunning Basarab Bridge, Europe’s widest cable-stayed bridge, and the City Gate Towers.

Whilst admiring the new, don’t miss out on the old classics, like the Parliament Palace, the world’s second largest building, with over 3100 rooms and impressive marble interiors covering 330,000 m². Make sure you admire the view from Nicolae Ceauşescu's balcony!

To fully appreciate the city’s long history, from Vlad the Impaler (aka Dracula) to the ’89 revolution, the city offers free guided walking tours, giving you a great opportunity to discover all the city’s secrets. And spot all the best shopping venues!

Before you land at Bucharest Airport, just 18 km from the city centre, make sure you check what Booking.com has to offer: from hotels to apartments, just a few clicks away!

The old town is beautiful spoilt only by the mindless idiots who think spraying your tag badly on every possible beautilf building is a great idea. The metro is cheap and easy to navigate (sort of). The christmas markets were great, there are so many hidden gems, just go out and explore. Get on the metro stop somewhere random and you will probably find a museum, awesome bar or beautiful building. The no room craft bar is literally as it says, a small bar with no seating, the owner was super nice and pointed us to another bar down the road called the ironic tap room that had indoor seating and the wierdest, yet suprisingly tasty vege burger we have ever tried...recommend! Try both they are both awesome for different reasons. Romoanian wine varys a lot, but we both agreed, one of the reds we had was probably the best red wine we have ever tasted. The christmas markets were good and fun. The bands on opening night in the main market were good, but the last traditional band were fantastic and got everyone dancing. I would recommend, go see the original home of the Dacia :D

Bucharest is an interesting place with a rich history and culture. Its architecture is fabulous! I love the city! Romanian food is good! We tried the food at Xclusive Grill & Crepes, Caru Cu Berre and coffee & pastries at Casa Capsa and they were all delicious. We tasted the best burger ever at Bossman's Burger Factory! Omg, it was to die for, so delicious!!! Don't leave Bucharest without going to this burger place! We bought tickets to enter The Parliament Building and included with it was a one-hour tour. The building was humongous and magnificent. Our stay was very short, so we hired a tour guide to know more about the history of Bucharest. We were there for a day and a half so we maximized our time in Bucharest. 4days/3nights would have been ideal so you could visit Transylvania. Get Uber or Bolt if you do not want to walk. Do not get a taxi because you will be charged more especially when they know you are a tourist. It happened to us.

We only had 1 1/2 days to visit the city. On the full day we took a full day trip. We left the apartment at 6.45 to go to a pick-up point for 7.15 and returned at 21.30. We went to Peles and Dracula's castles. A long day but well worth the effort. We had little time for anything else.

The hotel is located just in the middle of the old town. Most of the sights can be reached by walking. There are many shops, cafes, and restaurants nearby. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The room was large enough for two people and the internet connection was always stable during the stay. There was a fridge and kettle in our room. The breakfast was not the best but quite OK. There are only a few rooms in the hotel, so if you plan a stay in Bucharest, never hesitate and just book a room in this hotel.

To reach Bucharest I had flown via two airports and been travelling for nearly 20 hours. I arrived at check-in and was immediately greeted by a friendly member of staff and seconds later by a second who presented me with a small cup of hot milky tea. Such a simple thing to do. That tea was so refreshing and such a lovely start to my stay after a long day of travelling. That has never happened to me when I stay at 4 or 5 star hotels.
