This holy city is located in western Saudi Arabia and is also known as Makkah. Millions of Muslims make a pilgrimage here, as the pilgrimage is one of the Five Pillars of Islam. The Prophet Muhammad was born here, and it is a sacred place for Muslims and the birthplace of Islam.
Non-muslims are not permitted into Mecca and the government of Saudi Arabia issues special visas for people making the pilgrimage. Most people coming to the Mecca will enter via the Hajj Terminal at King Abdulaziz International Airport and Jeddah is the gateway to the city.
The Hajj has a fairly set itinerary including a visit to the Sacred Mosque, al-Masjid al-Haram, built around the Kaaba.
Mecca contains many restaurants with varied cuisine and tea shops are available for light refreshments such as traditional tea and biscuits. There are also many juice stands for a little refreshment amid the heat.
Ranging from luxury hotels to basic accommodation, Booking.com offers over 80 hotels for your time in Mecca.
Beautiful City but extremely busy. Be sure to give yourself plenty of time to get to the masjid for your salat as it can take a fair amount of time to get from your room to the masjid. Food options are great inside the clock tower. Make sure to bring sunscreen and plenty of water as it gets very hot.

This is a blessed place, and everything here is wonderful.
This is a blessed place, and everything here is wonderful. In November, the weather is very pleasant—not too hot or too cold. If you’re coming with children or elderly people, try to book hotels in front of the Haram or those with good service; otherwise, it can be very challenging to go back and forth. The government buses can be very crowded, and sometimes we’ve seen people falling due to the rush.

The Umrah experience was sureal, I was blessed to be invited as a guest to the house of Allah 🤲🏽 May he invite me again soon. I would definitely recommend this hotel which is a few yards from Haram 🤲🏽 It was easy to find my way around, wheelchair accessible.

Be careful of hotels inside clock towers as they are deceivingly close but due to the public and the size of the place it takes ages to go in snd out of your hotel. When performing the pilgrimage be aware of the Prayer times as all access to ground floor are closed off during this time.

Very good holy place.
Very good holy place. I have noticed that most of the people are very helpful and kind. But when we purchase any time in the shops we must be careful of the prices. It seems that the shop people give us an opportunity to bargain when we buy items in the shops.
