Building manager was very kind and helpful, always on call to answer questions. Check in was smooth, apartment is beautiful, exactly like pictures and in a good location - 10 mins to the monument.

A nice natural city, and very warm people but ready to over charge the tourist. Being Nigerian, I was ready for the haggle :) I found it quite easy to move around. Visiting Goree Island is a must but the ferry managers need to improve their ticketing processes and leverage on technology. In summary, we had to stand/sit under the sun for 3½ hours to buy the tickets. My advice, be there for 9am.

I paid. My family agreed I could stay in private room until 14th March. Many men in dormitory, I do not sleep there . I slept at my work. This was my third and longest stay in Dakar.
This was my third and longest stay in Dakar. My last stay was two weeks as just a tourist. This time, I will stay two months just to relax and wander around. Love it! Though I spoke very little French, I used a translator and everyone was very patient with me. Though I was a woman alone most of the time, I felt safe. I stopped using a taxi and now use Yango (like Uber) and have a regular driver, cheaper than a taxi. Walking around, the busy traffic was like New York or downtown Chicago, so be prepared to run across the street quickly. There are no stop lights or crosswalks. Finally, the fresh fish :), incredible! I have eaten in so many restaurants, sorry, cannot name a favorite.

My experience at the apartment in Zone de Captage, managed by DakarByDays, was simply perfect, even though I had an issue with my flight. From the very beginning, the team was extremely attentive and professional. I had a delay with my flight and arrived later than planned, but the DakarByDays team was available the entire time to help me reschedule my check-in and made sure everything was ready when I finally arrived. The apartment was spotless, and the level of cleanliness really stood out. The beds were incredibly comfortable, offering a great night’s rest after long days exploring the city. The space is also well-designed, creating a relaxing and cozy atmosphere that made me feel right at home. One nice touch was the detailed welcome books provided at the apartment. They were packed with useful information about the area, including local restaurants, shops, and attractions. This made it so much easier to settle in and explore without feeling lost or overwhelmed. A city with a taste for good African food (my favorites were Yuma and Bazoff in l'Amitié). Visit the local beaches (especially Yoff) and the various museums and galleries with contemporary art exhibitions. It's easy to get around with Dem Dikk buses (see www.talibi.net).
