Unfortunately, there was an incident at the Opry mall that also put a damper on our stay. We got held in the mall for 4 hours which interfered with a lot of our planned activities. We were so frazzled after that we were ready to come home.

Thief broke my passenger door window, along with 4 other car's, right out front of Country Inn and Suites Airport. More vehicles were broken into in the parking garage below the building. It was a nice walk to Broadway, but quite far to walk beyond that for other attractions. Perfect place for stadium events. Renting a car for a couple days is very helpful getting over to Opry Mill mall and exploring that area. Being from the country myself, I found Nashville challenging to get around Cane River restaurant had tough catfish and cod, Very disappointed. Cock of the Walk was closed so we ended up at Cane River.

We enjoyed the live music, the honkie tonks. We probably could of saved alot of money by not renting a car. If your hotel is centrally located you can walk to most venues. Parking prices were outrageous. There is a bus from the airport.

It's best if you stay downtown and walk to the nearby Broadway and other nearby attractions. Most are under a mile away. Taking bus tours, especially the Big E Bronco tour are informative and fun. Getting out to the Grand Ole Opry means planning way ahead and navigating a complicated parking maze.
