The extensively-refurbished Bridge House Hotel is set in Grasmere, directly across from St Oswalds Church and the graveyard where William Wordsworth rests. Sarah and the rest of the staff were so friendly and made us feel welcome from the moment we stepped in the door. The bed was really fantastic, probably one of the best beds I've ever slept in. Even though the duvet was a double duvet (we like our single duvets in Scandinavia), it was still wide enough that we didn't wake each other up during the night. I recommend trying the evening platter with local delicacies one night, just remember to pre-order 24 hrs in advance. I would definitely stay here again the next time I come this way.

Set in 125 acres of formal gardens, this 13th-century double-moated castle offers luxurious yet modern bedrooms with free Wi-Fi. Everything was perfect and was taking you back to the ages of Ann Boleyn. The room was giving you the essence of luxury and everything was built with high quality and respect to the history of the castle. The gardens and the fact that you could visit them also when they are closed for the public were really special. The whole experience was splendid.

With beautiful views of the Northern Fells, Ravenstone Lodge is 5 miles from Keswick, at the foot of Ullock Pike so you can relax in the conservatory or on the terrace and enjoy some of the best Lake... loved everything tbh, especially the welcome and service

Set around a manor house dating back to 1648, these old farm outbuildings have free parking and free WiFi in all areas. Caley is situated in the village of Old Hunstanton on the coast of Norfolk. Location is great breakfast was delicious

Ideal location for the Abbey and a short walk to the beach and attractions. The room was very pleasant and clean. Just what you need for a short break away.

Located just 700 metres from Sandsend Beach, Mulgrave Country Cottage features accommodation in Whitby with access to a garden, a shared lounge, as well as full-day security. Cannot say enough good things about Mulgrave Country Cottage. A beautiful house in a stunning location with the rooms wonderfully decorated.

Set in Bradford on Avon, in a historic building, 11 km from University of Bath, The Hall is a recently renovated country house with a garden and terrace. A stunning period property. I have never stayed anywhere quite so impressive as this. We stayed in the Moulton room which completely surpassed our expectations. The room was immaculately decorated throughout and came with complementary snacks and beverages. Access to the property was super easy and the location was perfect.

Offering a terrace and city view, Poppy's Project - July Road is set in Liverpool, 3.5 km from Williamson's Tunnels and 3.8 km from Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral. The price related to the full house is really bargain!! It is huge and comfy. The telly is with Netflix so good for kids

Featuring a garden and views of lake, Denham Mount is a country house situated in a historic building in Buckinghamshire, 5.7 km from Uxbridge. Overall, a lovely experience in a beautiful and very comfortable accommodation. Staff was helpful and personable and took good care of us. Social rooms were decorated for the holidays and I wish we could have explored the pretty grounds. Stayed on either end of our trip and, if available, will definitely return.
