ASAI Kyoto Shijo is goed gelegen in het centrum van Kyoto, en biedt kamers met airconditioning, een restaurant, gratis WiFi en een bar. Een fijn, mooi, rustig hotel, een klein stukje wandelen van het centrum. Kleine kamers maar heel functioneel ingericht en de bedden liggen echt heerlijk. In Osaka had ik nog heimwee naar deze plek.

Gion Elite Terrace ligt in Kyoto, op minder dan 1 km van station Gion Shijo, en biedt accommodatie met een gedeelde lounge, privéparkeren, een terras en een restaurant. Facilities are new and tidy. Located super close to Hanamikoji of Gion and Kenninji. Plus, the restaurant at the place offers gluten free and vegan foods!

Hotel Metropolitan Tokyo Haneda - 2023-10-17 Grand Opening biedt 4-sterrenaccommodatie in Tokio, op 3,4 km van het heiligdom Miwa Itsukushima en op 3,7 km van het heiligdom Omori Hachiman. Great place to stay next to Haneda Airport. Highly recommended.

Beppu Hatto Onyado Nono Beppu is gelegen in Beppu, op 20 km van Oita Bank Dome en 12 km van station Oita. Comfortable but with very tiny rooms. Unusual experience {which we liked} for a big hotel is that you must not wear shoes at any place in the hotel. All floors are carpeted with tatami mats, which are beautiful, but since this hotel caters a lot to tour groups, the front doors become jammed when a bus comes in and people must remove their shoes. Tour groups also bottleneck at the elevators and restaurant. Breakfasts looked great, but we wouldn't go when tours were lined up. Excellent coffee always available. Outdoor onsen was tiny (maybe 3 meters by 3 meters). Indoor onsen was large enough, but not hot enough. Great location with lots of restaurants nearby. Fantastic English-speaking staff. Dormy's HR Dept know their stuff. We'd stay again, despite the small rooms and small onsen. Visit the very old downtown onsen, Takegawara, , a must, and the seafront walk, Good bakery (Mermaid) at the train station. Liveely downtown area.
