Wonderful experience. We visited in the winter and the room was very warm, comfortable and clean. Sitting under the kotatsu while drinking tea was super pleasant. The establishment itself has a very traditional, historic japanese look, both inside and out, and is very well preserved and walking around it was a very memorable experience. The private bath was also great and soaking in it was very relaxing. The traditional japanese breakfast was served in front of an indoor fireplace and was delicious. The staff were very pleasant and hospitable and made the entire stay memorable. It was also snowing outside and a night walk around the surrounding area was very peaceful and felt quite magical.

Harataki offers a hot spring bath and free private parking, and is within 4.1 km of Mount Iimori and 5.3 km of Aizuwakamatsu Station. Absolutely lovely staff, beautiful landscape and wonderful baths. I really recommend renting one of the private baths. We got the wooden bathtub with open view into the woods and Yu river and were stunned by the beauty of everything. The meal in the restaurant consisted of regional specialties as well as a big buffet to choose from. I would definitely like to return here!

The owner is very kind. The hospitality was just amazing. The owner even dropped me to the station with his car when I checked out. Breakfast was amazing too. I loved the vintage vibe of the ryokan. It was very aesthetic. I’d go here again!!!
