Very authentic Japanese style accommodation with fantastic hospitality.. Excellent facilities and we will definitely visit again. We had buffet breakfast and the food was delicious. We should have stayed 2 nights.

Featuring an open-air bath and views of mountain, Shosuke-no-Yado Takinoyu is a ryokan situated in a historic building in Aizuwakamatsu, 3.4 km from Mount Iimori. Probably the best place we stayed in the two weeks in Japan. Everything is perfect! Highly recommend for anyone reading this to take the effort to go, be it driving there or taking the train. Plus point it the private onsens are really affordable. Don’t save your money just splurge it on the private onsens they offer!

Harataki offers a hot spring bath and free private parking, and is within 4.1 km of Mount Iimori and 5.3 km of Aizuwakamatsu Station. This hotel has an absolutely spectacular location, perched on the side of a ravine. All the rooms seem to face outwards into this incredible space, so you really feel in close contact with nature. We were lucky to be there at the height of autumn leaf colour too. We had a lovely welcome from the staff when we arrived. They were exceptionally helpful re sending our larger bags onward by takkubin. The public onsen is stunning, with a wonderful outside onsen too, overhanging the waterfall and stream. We booked one of the private baths, which was fabulous, and I would highly recommend it. There are several different private onsen, so, with a bit of forward planning, you could try several different ones, even in short stay - for the more extreme onsen lovers perhaps! The restaurant was excellent. I am very glad we booked for dinner, which was a feast, and combined table service with an extensive buffet. Breakfast was delicious, buffet style. Everything about our stay was comfortable and things went very smoothly. We travelled to Aizuwakamatsu by train, and onwards to the hotel by taxi. We were only there one night, and would love to return.

Attractively situated in the Higashiyama Onsen district of Aizuwakamatsu, Higashiyama Park Hotel Shinfugetsu is situated 3.5 km from Mount Iimori, 4.7 km from Aizuwakamatsu Station and 25 km from... Was given a room with a good view of Aizuwakamatsu City. Room was quite big and price at Yen 9,100 including dinner and breakfast was value for money. Miss Sakai the receptionist provided excellent services and was very kind to explain all the hotel facilities patiently. Thank you.

The owner is very kind. The hospitality was just amazing. The owner even dropped me to the station with his car when I checked out. Breakfast was amazing too. I loved the vintage vibe of the ryokan. It was very aesthetic. I’d go here again!!!
