We loved the small bathtub onsen and the eclectic atmosphere of the renovated building. The owners were lovely and very helpful. They gave us great restaurant recommendations ahead of time as the town is rather quiet at night.

The room is big and very clean, the quilt is new, smells good and soft. There is a relaxing room, which contains massage chairs, hanging chairs and foot massage machines. The milk in the vending machine is so fresh and sweet that I drink it many times. Thanks to the wonderful staff, I have a great journey here.

I slept so well and I loved how peaceful it was. It was such a lovely break from the cities in Japan, hiking nearby was really fantastic and I liked the onsens too.

The staff were so friendly and helpful and surprised us with a beautiful cake celebrating our honeymoon! The room was immaculate and so nicely made up with great views and excellent use of space with so much storage. Excellent amenities and super comfy beds. The bathroom with private indoor/outdoor onsen was fantastic. The staff helped us book massages and taxi transfers. A perfect quiet retreat during our busy trip to Japan.

TORUS 修善寺 Condominium 貸切宿 se nachází v destinaci Izu a nabízí pokoje s výhledem na hory. Jen 400 metrů odtud je Chrám Shuzenji. Mount Daruma se nachází 15 km od ubytování. We had a wonderful stay at this coffee shop-styled house. The nostalgic decor and spacious tatami-floored bedrooms created a cozy and unique atmosphere. Our kids enjoyed the toys and books provided by the host, which kept them entertained. The location is excellent, within walking distance of popular attractions like Shuzenji and the bamboo path. We would definitely book this place again if we have the chance to visit Izu again in the future.

Registered as a cultural property, Arai Ryokan features natural hot-spring baths and traditional Japanese architecture just a 5-minute walk from Shuzenji Temple. Everything was exceptional. The traditional building was beautifully maintained and every corner was photo worthy. The staff were friendly and took very good care of us. Our room was beautiful and spacious, we had a wooden tub in our bathroom to soak in and amazing garden views from the windows. The food was beautifully presented and delicious. Onsens were wonderful and each one had its own charm and feel. The place is a short walk from the bus stop and next to the bridges and bamboo grove, allowing easy access in the evening. The stay at this ryokan was definitely a highlight of our Japan trip and we’d love to stay here again.
