I enjoyed this hotel for its stunning mountain views, and we were fortunate to have the entire place to ourselves during our stay. However, there is room for improvement in the onsen facilities

In a prime location in the Yufuin Onsen district of Yufu, 湯布院 おやど花の湯yufuin oyado hananoyu is located 47 km from Resonac Dome Oita, 2.7 km from Kinrinko Lake and 32 km from Beppu Station. It was spacious, clean, well-equipped, comfortable and excellent value for money. The owner was very welcoming, hospitable and kind. It was great to have our own onsen which looked out to the unit's small Japanese garden. We slept on the futon section of the property and we had a good night's sleep. There was an option to sleep on a double bed in the other section of the property. We had a rental car and we had no problem getting to the property by typing in the phone number into the navigation system. We had a small car and the parking space was ok. We enjoyed our lovely stay there and would have loved to stay longer!

Lovely place about a 10-15 minute walk from the train station. We were there on 2 cold days in March but our room was warm with a heater and electric blankets. Very comfortable beds and an onsen in the room. We had a beautiful view out our window and in nice weather it would be lovely to sit outside but not on this visit. You eat downstairs in a pleasant dining room. The 2 dinners were fabulous and well prepared but we couldn't eat much of the breakfast (it was all Japanese), other guests loved it. But on the second day the cooks made us a delicious breakfast that kept us going all day. The owner is very helpful, he cares a lot about his guests, he's still working on the place and it will be really nice when it's done.

Situated in Yufu, 44 km from Resonac Dome Oita, Bessou Konjakuan features accommodation with a garden, free private parking and a restaurant. This ryokan was our last night stay in Japan. We included the dinner and the breakfast. The food quality at this place was the best out of all places we tried. That was so worth the price, especially the 10 course dinner. The cleanliness of the entire place was above and beyond our expectations. We loved the yukata and the wooden sandals provided by them. We were able to take photos at the kinrin lake within the yukata. Both the indoor and outdoor onsen were nice. It would have been good to see some details (benefits) about the water but there was none written info. The water was way too hot when we enter one of the outdoor spa. If we weren't taught by the previous ryokan we wouldn't have know to mix in the cold water to the pool. The drop off service to the Yufuin station was nice.

The food for every dinner and breakfast is an absolute masterpiece of culinary art and design! Chef Tashi Gyamtso, I think it is fair to say, is one of Asia’s most brilliant chefs in the farm-to table movement. Dinner will last for hours but you will never be bored. Each course is thoughtfully presented with amazing attention to detail and perfect service from kind and attentive staff. The focus is on healthy local vegetables and fruits from their own farm and the region, and Oita’s best local fresh fish and seafoods. The property is an outstanding example of contemporary architecture and design set in nature with every detail that you could imagine perfectly coordinated.

I loved the service. They were friendly and explained everything quite well. The facilities were amazing.

Located in Yufu, 47 km from Resonac Dome Oita, GEMS YUFUIN Hotel and Spa Cafe Bar provides air-conditioned rooms and a bar. Very very very convenient location, just few steps a way from yufuin bus terminal. Next to the hotel is Unagi rice restaurant. Hotel equipped with private onsen and sauna, though small but just nice, no complaint. Hotel has in house cafe too. Room is super spacious and with superb nice vibe. Love it love it love it ! Will stay here again if return to Yufuin next time.
