1.5 km from Monsaraz Castle, Viva! Farmhouse is a recently renovated property situated in Monsaraz and features air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi and private parking. This is the most special place I visited in a long time: The kindest and most helpful staff, the location, the beautifully and thoughtful decorated rooms, the relaxing pool, the entire atmosphere and not to forget the most delicious and lovingly prepared breakfast - everything was perfect. We loved everything about Casas de Santa Rita. The host Miguel is both kind and helpful. I shared the types of experiences we were looking for and places we were considering visiting, and he weighed in with excellent advice each day. His restaurant recommendations were wonderful too. There's nothing right by, but it was an easy 10 minutes to some great food. The rooms are lovely, as are the facilities and pool. Our daughter absolutely loved the animals - donkeys, sheep, and dogs. She especially loved feeding the donkeys every day. We also enjoyed breakfast by the pool: fresh food and a atmospheric. I hope we can come back in a couple years, I also loved the area the most out of all my time in Portugal. The Alentejo is where it's at! Beautiful landscape, incredibly history, great food and friendly people! My kind of vacation.

Herdade Ribeira de Borba is a working farm, offering rural tourism in a traditional countryside retreat. You can enjoy Montado’s beautiful scenery from the spacious terrace and 2 outdoor pools. Although outside of Vila Viçosa, the location couldn’t be more perfect. Beautiful property, very relaxing. We stayed at the Pombal, and loved it. The staff is so attentive, and especially Valeria made our stay even more special. Loved everything about it, and plan on returning.
