I only have great things to say about this place. The owners were incredibly kind and constantly made sure we were enjoying our stay. Set within 16 km of Salado Memorial and 16 km of Ducal Palace, Casal de S.Romão do Meio features rooms with air conditioning and a private bathroom in Guimarães. We were met by the charming and effusive owner Claudino, who showed us around his extensive property full of vines, lemon trees, kiwi fruit, orange trees; also a swimming pool, only just opened for the season (which we didn't make use of). Claudino offered us wine and homemade cake before showing us our room, which was small, but cozy and totally adequate. He also served us an excellent home cooked dinner, accompanied by his home brewed vinho verde tinto and later port; all of which were delicious. Breakfast was also delicious and plentiful. Claudino suggested we visit the spectacular Parque da Penha on our way to Porto, which we did, and which we would highly recommend too.

Quinta da Quinhas, a property with a garden, is set in Vila Praia de Âncora, 1.8 km from Cauldron Dune Beach, 16 km from Shipyards of Viana do Castelo, as well as 26 km from Golfe de Ponte de Lima. Everything!!!! And the pool!!

Featuring mountain views, Quinta da Roda Hotel - Conforto e Tranquilidade no Gerês offers accommodation with an infinity pool, a garden and a bar, around 21 km from Sao Bento da Porta Aberta... the room and private seating outside were great with lot’s of privacy. the view from the back garden was magnific but the most impressive of all was a terrific breakfast with every day fresh home-made bread, cake, fresh fruit, eggs too much to eat so we were glad we stayed a week to taste all. A bonus is that Brian from the staff gives on request advise for fantastic hiking trips and tips to explore the area. All the staff was very friendly and made sure we felt comfortable. We strongly recommend the accomodation as an ideal place to explore the Geres area

Located in Barcelos and only 30 km from Shipyards of Viana do Castelo, Quinta de Castelhão provides accommodation with pool views, free WiFi and free private parking. Because at the late and early hours of traveling from ALGARVE TO BARCELOS, the staff provide always a plate of food for the long hour of trabeling and work, in three situations which were even outside typical lunch ou dinner time, which was both exellent and very generous. Really felt at home.
