It was our first desert experience and it was wonderful. The camp itself, the friendly family running it, simple but sufficient facilities and beautiful surroundings.

To stay in a Desert Camp sleeping under the stars is a completely outstanding experience. Driving over the dunes, riding camels, sharing the local food with the family that accommodated us felt special indeed. The location of the camp is hidden, aqay from other camps or other people, so one can enjoy complete silence, darkness and inclusion with the nature. Provided breakfast and dinner had a traditional tone which we appreciated highly. Recommended!

Our best stay in Oman - and one of my most favourite stays ever! The views in this part of the desert (15-20 minute drive from Bidiyah) are out of this world. Sundown is absolutely spectacular! The host was very friendly and took us for a spontaneous sunset dune trip. The place was maintained by extremely professional staff (Idris and his colleague, from South Asia). They were incredibly helpful, efficient, hard-working, and kind. You have your own spacious tent with a double and a single bed, terraces front and back, and your own simple bathroom with some water to shower + a flush W/C. We had a very tasty dinner (best tasting dinner - goat stew! - in Oman!) and breakfast, together with the two other friendly families staying there, and we all had a really cosy chat by the camp fireplace. It is situated far away from the other camps and is very quiet in the evening and at night. We slept like babies, and my son enjoyed a camel ride in the morning. If we had had more time, we would have stayed an extra night. You can drive in by 4x4. Our 4x4 was a little small, so we opted for the drive with the host at 20 OMR round trip. Book this place - it’s a real treat, and it is affordable, too!

The tent was even more comfortable than most hotel rooms I've stayed in so far. Hamood and his staff are the most welcoming people making sure you're feeling at home. Food was great, activities were fun and the best thing was the location, as the camp was further inside the desert than the other ones. Less people, no trash, more freedom - worth every penny.
