Wonderful idea to convert the old school building into a guesthouse that has plenty of space and facilities, plus great view of the surroundings.

Set in Nakatsugawa, 100 metres from Toson Memorial Museum and 100 metres from Magome Wakihonjin Museum, GUESTHOUSE YANAGIYA offers air conditioning. The accommodation was clean and cosy, and Kento-san was most friendly and welcoming. Privacy was a plus point too. Highly recommend.

Located in Nanto and only 44 km from Kanazawa Castle, GOKAYAMA BASE provides accommodation with mountain views, free WiFi and free private parking. Great place with everything you need for a comfortable and great value stay. We really liked the conversations with the host.

Located in Hakuba, 9 km from Tsugaike Kogen Ski Area, Keimichi Guest House provides accommodation with free bikes, free private parking, a shared lounge and a terrace. Very clean with all necessary facilities in the kitchen. Just outside of the guesthouse, there’s a free shuttle bus to ski resort in the morning. Even 20-30 mins walk to Hakuba train station and supermarket, during winter, it’s a little bit far, however it is still within walking distance. Affordable and comfortable place to stay for solo traveler.

熱海温泉 実の別荘 features a hot spring bath and free private parking, and is within 1.5 km of Atami Sun Beach and 27 km of Hakone-Yumoto Station. Clean stay with the friendliest host. We enjoyed the onsen with wonderful mountain and sea views as well as an ice cream gift after bathing! The host allowed us to drop off our luggae early which freed us to stroll around the temple nearby and the rest of Atami, all of the host’s recommendations! My friends and I used the common area often as it was filled with natural light and windows across the entire span of the room. The sunrise and sunset were beautiful and we couldn’t have asked for a more perfect stay!

The hosts were extremely helpful and went out of their way to ensure we had a good stay. There was a small kitchen to prepare hot drinks or microwave food. Everywhere was very clean and well kitted out. We have stayed in several Ryokan recently. This was undoubtedly the best!

Set within 2.9 km of Fuji-Q Highland and 7.2 km of Lake Kawaguchi, LINK HOUSE features rooms with air conditioning and a shared bathroom in Fujiyoshida. The host is incredibly hospitable , friendly and humerous. I had an awesome stay while visiting Mt Fuji. The breakfast was different every morning, and each time it was delicious and wholesome. The House was spotless and very beautifully furnished.

Offering a garden and garden view, 松本はなれ is set in Matsumoto, 1.4 km from Matsumoto Station and 4.9 km from The Japan Ukiyo-e Museum. This guest house offers free private parking and a shared kitchen.... The house is small but very cute with all amenities available. Only one shower for men and one for women but since there are not many rooms, it wasn’t a problem. Several toilets. Cute little terrace in our room as well. The host was very nice and accommodating. Free parking.

Located in Shimoda, 600 metres from Nabetahama Beach, Guesthouse All you need provides accommodation with free bikes, private parking, a shared lounge and a terrace. The vibe was so chill and everyone were so nice and respectful.
