We spent a night here while biking the Shimanami Kaido trail. Yas, our host, was super kind and helpful. Fully equipped kitchen with free coffee and tea. Nice shower. Towels can be rented for 100 yen and laundry machine use for 100 yen as well. Very comfortable tatami beds. Close to a very good izakaya restaurant for dinner as well!

Shikishima is a hidden gem ryokan just short train ride outside of Imabari. The staff were extremely kind and I feel their level of service is above and beyond the cost to stay. I was able to enjoy a divine soak in their bath after a long day of cycling and the host carefully washed and folded my laundry for a very low fee. I enjoyed speaking Japanese with the host and helping some other English-speaking guests communicate with her too! A truly wonderful experience. My travelling partner and I loved the rice balls and local mikan orange for breakfast. Simple but delicious food, and clearly made with love using local ingredients. I wish I could have stayed for another night and enjoyed the evening meal too. The host was so friendly and made many suggestions for our trip when we shared our plans. I look forward to coming back to Shikoku and visiting the places she talked about. Thank you!
