The staff was incredibly accommodating, and very helpful with local recommendations. We had a private room for 2 (picture included), as well as a single bed in the female dorm (for my sister-in-law). We all opted for the Japanese breakfast each day, which was prepared beautifully and was fantastic. Our room was on the lower level, right next to the mini workout area (a stationary bike, as well as some other machine), which had a massage chair. The massage chair was incredible, and much needed after a long day of hiking. We loved the private onsen with signups. They have a left (larger) and right (smaller) onsen which can be both be reserved in 40 minute increments using a signup on the main floor. Signups are for 16:00-22:30 (8 signups, 2 onsens, so 16 different reservations a day). The onsens can be used on a first come first served basis in the mornings as well. We also went to a local japanese restaurant near the bottom of the hill (not far from the bus stop) which was an incredible experience within a few minutes walking from the hotel.

Open from August 2017, Guest House Wagokoro offers a modern Japanese-style accommodation an 8-minute stroll away from JR Nippori Station. Each room comes with an en suite bathroom and toilet. The staff was incredibly friendly and service minded and very helpful! Felt genuinely like a Japanese ryokan and it was clean.

Situated within 38 km of Nikko Station and 38 km of Tobu Nikko Station, Guesthouse Kincha 駅東口 features rooms with air conditioning and a shared bathroom in Utsunomiya. The owner is a very nice and open minded person that likes talking to you and gives you good recommendations for the area! Additionally the beds were very comfortable!

Situated in Tokyo, 700 metres from Kameari Kochikame Statue, MAKOTO GUESTHOUSE -Enjoy your stay- provides air-conditioned accommodation and a shared lounge. Nice atmosphere and very clean! 10/10💖

In the Katsushika district of Tokyo, close to Shoganji Temple, Ici Japon Village features free bikes and a washing machine. This was our favourite accommodation in Japan. It's so clean and easy to access. They have bikes free to use and the price is amazing. We loved our stay here so much and their attention to detail. They give you a little bag to welcome you with sweets and treats. Also the room with the futon beds is also a great way to start your trip in Japan. You sleep on a tamati mat too. Thank you so much Ici Japon Village if we are ever back in Tokyo we will stay here ❤️😍

A recently renovated property, 波奈 浅草 Hana Asakusa ーSkyTree前駅まで徒歩5分ー is situated in Tokyo near Hatonomachidori Shopping Street, Aizome Museum and Tsukada Kobo. The house structure is interesting (in a good way) We got all the amenities like in the hotels. Everything is clean. We had our first experience on Tatami flooring & how to lay a futon. Unlike other self check-in home stay, Kazuki-san is very friendly that he greeted us himself and we had a small chat which I feel warmly welcomed.
