GUEST HOUSE NAGORIYA se encuentra en Hikone, a 1,7 km de Castillo Hikone, y ofrece alojamiento con bar y parking privado gratis. I cannot recommend this guest house enough! The owner is so kind, helpful and speaks decent English. The location is too far for walking but if you take the number 22 bus from stand 1 outside the station, you can shorten the walk to 5 minutes. Very comfortable bed, good AC, plenty of space for luggage and relaxing. Useful kitchen, fridge, freezer, microwave, kettle, cutlery, mugs, plates etc. It's in a quiet area. The lake is a short walk away. Hikone Castle isn't far either. The one toilet and shower on the first floor did not bother me. I loved this guest house!

Well worth the effort to travel to experience a lovely ryokan, it's host and the town. I paid for dinner and I'm SO glad I did. It was a highlight of my stay and in deed a highlight of my 5 week trip in Japan. You sit in a sunken seating area and watch the ryokan owner/cook prepare what felt like a large number of individual dishes. The food was absolutely delicious. I was concerned about hearing other guests because, being an older house, the walls are thin - but the night I was there all the guests were respectfully quiet. I had a view over the "river" which may be a mis-nomer - but it is a peaceful stream running through the pretty street. I highly recommend a visit.

The home was beautiful and comfortable. The neighbourhood was quiet and peaceful. The hosts were helpful, friendly and kind. Everything we needed was provided. We were picked up at the train station and were able to pick up supplies on the way to the home. We had a very relaxing stay even though it rained the entire time. The host took us site seeing on the way back to the station and shared knowledge about the area and history. We had a fun time!

湖北 寺の宿-去-来-現Ko-Rai-Gen se encuentra en Nagahama, a 37 km de Castillo Hikone, y ofrece bicicletas gratis, habitaciones libres de humo, wifi gratis en todo el alojamiento y jardín. A lovely place run by lovely people. I liked the spacious room for the two of us, the veranda, the beautiful temple which we were introduced to. The morning chanting and bell ringing was a really profound start to the day, and all offered in the most low key way. Really loved this Amida temple. 🌞 ☔ It was great to be told about the super sento 10 minutes walk away. 💦 Thanks so much for your generosity with lifts and other help. 🌻

Everything is clean, the kitchen is very well equipped, we loved the bathroom with a view of the surrounding fields and mountains. The family is lovely and has a great sense of hospitality. We will come back !

Guesthouse Shin se encuentra en Omihachiman, a 37 km de Templo Enryaku-ji y a 38 km de Templo Sanzen-in. The house is clean, spacious, and nearby to most of the tourist attractions. The owner is very lovely, helpful and responsive. Will definitely stay here again when we visit Omihachiman.
