But when we did, the Wachau region didn’t disappoint—there’s so much to explore, from hiking trails and castles to amazing local restaurants. Plus, it’s just an hour’s drive from Vienna, so it’s easy to get to, but feels like a total escape. If you’re looking for the perfect hideaway with top-notch service and a great atmosphere, it is the perfect spot.
