Amazing access to parts of the wall where you wont be drowning in a sea of tourists - we hardly met anyone while hiking it.

A recently renovated homestay in Miyun and within 15 km of Great Wall of China - Simatai, Gubeikou Great Wall Yunyeshu Boutique Guesthome features a garden, comfortable soundproof rooms and free WiFi.... The couple managing this Guesthouse are very warm and welcoming. They took good care of us, meeting us when we reached the train station. They arranged transport for us to do our treks at different sections of the great wall. The weather was not in our favour on the first day but we enjoyed the good company and friendly conversation over many cups of tea. Our beds were also comfortable, and it was convenient to have attached toilet with good supply of hot water. There are not many food options around but we purchased very delicious meals and ate at the Guesthouse. Overall we were very pleased with our stay.

北京城涛小筑客栈 Chengtiao Xiaozhu has mountain views, free WiFi and free private parking, situated in Miyun, 13 km from Great Wall of China - Simatai. A great place to stay to visit the great wall and experience a peaceful Chinese village. The entrance to the great wall is just a short walk. This section of the great wall is so quiet that we have the whole place to ourselves. It is also not very restored so you get to see some of the original wall. They also cooked fresh food from their garden for us. I have been to Beijing twice and did all the major tourist spots. I have to say staying here and hiking the wall in peace is my best Beijing experience.

This accommodation is located in the Central Area with a lot of food options nearby yet away from the hustle in a small alley (Hutong). Further hidden inside a cafe, which I felt very safe and exclusive. Staff members are super friendly and helpful to assist with enquiries, housekeeping and also some logistic issues.
