The location of the hostel is exceptional: very secluded in the woods, on a fairly steep slope of SW exposure, lots of sunshine day time (even in winter :-), beautiful view from the deck towards Three Sisters. Main lodge and the cabins are built in classic alpine style. The place is far enough from the hwy not to hear it but close enough to downtown Canmore (5 min or so). The interior of the main lodge is very cozy and stylish (wood), too; the common use rooms are nicely decorated, etc. The staff is very welcoming and helpful.
Located in the heart of Banff National Park and less than 10 minutes’ walk from Banff town center, YWCA Banff Hotel sits along the peaceful Bow River.

Great location - easy walk across the bridge to the Main Street. Private room at a good cost. Overall, I’d likely stay here again. Helpful reception staff.

Good economical option offered right outside of Banff National Park. Everything here is expensive, of course, so the Hostel was the way to go.
Budget travellers know that there is no better way to make the most of their trip than by staying at a hostel: save money for exploring during the day, and swap stories with fellow backpackers in the shared kitchen or bar in the evening. Dorm-style bedrooms with shared bathrooms are standard hostel fare, but private rooms are also available for those willing to pay a bit more.
Great location, friendly staff, clean and comfortable rooms, nice toiletries, strong WiFi, decent breakfast, nice having a fridge in the room. Quiet and safe. Lots of info provided on the area. I would stay again :)
Great location with parking. Fully equipped. Not cheap but very comfortable. Staff were very friendly. Free bustickets to Banff centre. You can lent bear-spray.
Best hostel in Banff; from the location being just a 5-10 min walk from the main shops/bars/restaurants to the staff who make you feel right at home - would highly recommend! Love the themed nights at the Beaver Bar, there's also a big common room area to meet people in a more chilled setting. Bedrooms are really cosy, most of them have a fireplace, super comfy beds, ensuite bathroom... and the breakfast is pretty diverse from eggs, fruit and English muffins to pancakes, and homemade muffins everyday - what more could you ask for!
Staff are great
Rather expensive for a single bunk bed in a hostel when hostels are supposed to be the cheaper option and being a taller person in a bunk bed isn’t the greatest but other then it was good
This was my first hostel experience and definitely exceeded my expectations. Great staff, very clean and loved meeting new people and knowing their stories, doing a hike or two together.
We stayed there for a few nights with my friends and the hostel had everything we needed. Big kitchen, breakfast, common area, good wifi, and great location!
The locations was great, very good value for money. I was just using the hostel as a base while visiting a friend in Banff. The staff and other residents were all really nice and I appreciated the company and chats.
Wifi worked well, bed was fine and room was clean. I didn't use the showers as went to friends place for a shower.
A very safe place to be and didn't worry about my belonging going missing.
Stored my skis and boots all stay with no problems.
My daughter and her friend have been staying since November.
It was initially recommended to me, as a a great place to stay if you're new to Banff, as the atmosphere is both welcoming and friendly.
Its not the cheapest hostel but the staff are great, the location is excellent and they both feel comfortable and safe.
