Situated in Port Douglas, 1.2 km from Four Mile Beach, Dougies Backpackers Resort features accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a shared lounge and a bar. I visited Port Douglas to do my 88-day visa extension, and ended up staying at Dougies for the whole 3 months. This is one of the best hostels I've ever stayed in, and I've been travelling for 8 years. The staff were super friendly, really helpful and always on hand for everything you need. The pool was lovely, the long term room was really nice and the aircon was definitely needed! Shared kitchen and bathroom both cleaned every day and I never had any issues with either. Sometimes, they held parties here but the music stopped at midnight, so even if you were in work early the next day this wasn't ever a problem. Laundry machines $4 each for wash and dry, standard pricing. Hostel bar had a happy hour with $9 beers which I highly recommend!

Boasting a saltwater pool, a bar and a poolside cinema, Port Douglas Backpackers is within a 5-minute walk of Four Mile Beach, Macrossan Street and Marina Mirage. Close to town! Very clean. Quiet for a hostel super clean and comfortable! Good value for money for sure.
