Set in Port Alberni, Char's Landing Hostel offers a shared lounge. There is a sun terrace and guests can make use of free WiFi and free private parking. I traveled alone and really just needed to sleep before the morning departure by boat to Bamfield, so for the first time in my life, I stayed in a dormitory. For 43 dollars, it more than served its purpose. But I chose this hostel mainly because it is also a cultural facility that was converted from a church. Its location near the harbor and its place in the local Art District make this place also unique. But its biggest charm is added by the owners who decided that the house they live in will also be a place of meeting and culture. I attended one concert and it was a really pleasant experience. Not only because of the music but also from meeting the owners, really kind and inspirative people. Otherwise, the hostel is well equipped, clean, and comfortable. Parking right in front of the building. I liked Port Alberni, so I will return here with my family. We will definitely be happy to stay at Chars Landing.
