Nestled into a hillside surrounded by natural bush, Kookaburra Retreat is a 5 minute drive or an easy 15 minute walk into Nelson Bay CBD, the Marina and Nelson Bay Beach. Walk to beautiful family friendly bay beaches or drive 10 minutes to surf beaches - One Mile Beach, Birubi Beach and many more. Nelson Bay Golf Course is a 5 minute drive. Walking distance to the many cafes, restaurants, beaches and shops in Nelson Bay and surrounds. PLEASE NOTE - the property is not suitable for the very young (toddlers), the elderly, or anyone with mobility issues due to the steep driveway and split level design of the house - 3 levels with approx 8 steps between each level.

Kookaburra Retreat is perfectly located for easy walking into Nelson Bay CBD, where you can enjoy the many cafes, restaurants & bars, or walk to the Marina to enjoy a dolphin or whale watching tour. Walk or drive to Nelson Bay Beach or Dutchmans Beach, two of the most beautiful beaches in the bay, or drive 10 minutes to stunning surf beaches. PLEASE NOTE - the property is not suitable for the very young (toddlers), the elderly, or anyone with mobility issues due to the steep driveway and split level design of the house - 3 levels with approx 8 steps between each level. Golf courses are a few minutes away, and the Port Stephens Peninsula is bike friendly. Climb to the top of Tomaree to see the sunrise, then enjoy the rest of the day relaxing at the beach, playing golf, or just chilling at the many local cafes. Kookaburra Retreat is an easy 3 hours drive from Sydney (by freeway most of the way), 50mins from Newcastle and 30mins drive from Newcastle airport, and there is a Port Stephens coach from the airport into Nelson Bay CBD. Nelson Bay offers many beach & bush walking routes, and the peninsula is bicycle friendly with lots of bike lanes and mountain bike tracks for the keen cyclers.
