The Medehamstede Hotel is set amongst spacious well-kept gardens in the coastal town of Shanklin. It is located on the Isle of Wight, half a mile from Shanklin Rail Station and a 5-minute walk from the beach and offers limited free private parking. Each room at the Medehamstede has an en suite bathroom, a TV and tea/coffee making facilities. Free WiFi is offered throughout and some rooms feature views of the sea or the hotel’s gardens. Ironing facilities and alarm clocks can be borrowed from reception. The on-site restaurant offers a generous varied menu and can cater for vegetarians or those with special diets on request. There is a bar area, which offers regular entertainment, bingo and traditional pub quizzes. The Site of Special Scientific Interest, America Wood is a mile and a half from the hotel and offers guests the opportunity for a country walk in a scenic woodland location. The historic Shanklin Chine is a wooded coastal ravine, just a 5-minute walk from the hotel.
