The house is located on a quiet terrace in the Dennistoun area of Glasgow and was built in 1862. It retains original Victorian architectural features such as cornicing and stained glass windows but is upgraded to provide modern comforts such as King beds in all double rooms, smart TV’s, fibre WiFi and USB charging ports. The lounge has a large bay window which overlooks the residents park area as does the front facing rooms.
Eric and Leslie welcome you to Seton Guest House and are delighted to be back hosting in our home city after a nineteen year adventure in Texas and Arkansas. At our Arkansas boutique inn we provided good old Scottish hospitality to travelers from all over the world and this is what we aim to do here also (well, minus the pool and barbecue!). On visits home over the years we have watched Glasgow develop into a tourist destination while still retaining all its original warmth and humor. We look forward to welcoming all our guests to our home city and are always around the house to assist and provide our local knowledge if needed.
The property is located within a quiet residential area about 1 kilometre from Glasgow City Centre. We are a 20 minute flat walk from the city centre. Our local suburban area has nearby Glasgow Green (1 mile away) and Alexandria Park (0.5 miles away) which are great for walking or cycling. The park has a free nine hole municipal Golf course and small mountain bike trail. From Glasgow Green you can cycle along the river walk to the city centre and West End of the city . Nearby event centres include Emirates Arena, Tollcross International Pool, Chris Hoy Velodrome, Celtic Park, Barrowlands and St Lukes. The SECC and Armadillo venues are 10 minutes away by car or taxi. Locally on Duke St are top rated Italian, Indian, Fine dining, BBQ, Bistros and foodie pubs. Also several small trendy casual cafes, bakeries and coffee shops. The Merchant City area with its huge choice of bars, restaurants and entertainment is 15 minutes walk, 8 minutes by bus or 5 mins by car. A further 5 minutes walk will take you to the city centre.
