Through a journey that started in 2001, Oreo Travel was founded by Stratos Beretis, an experienced member of the Greek Tourism Industry, a Graduate of the Department of Economics of the University of Crete and a Master Degree Holder in Tourism Business Management. Having passed through several management positions, he was won over by the occupation with tailor made tourism services and especially in inbound tourism in villas, independent properties, country houses and small holiday rental units. Oreo Travel started as a representative of global tour operators and continues to this day with an ever-growing network of partners and properties in Crete, Peloponnese and Athens, in line with the new promotional and managing methods. Our goal at Oreo Travel is to promote the properties we partner with in the best way possible, by solely operating as a booking agent on behalf of our partner-property owners, whom we advise and guide in providing high standards of hospitality for their guests, in accordance with the regulations and the laws that govern the accommodation industry. Furthermore, we are constantly available for our guests to answer questions, solve potential problems that may arise while booking or staying in and to recommend services that may be needed to facilitate their stay and maximize their travel experience (car rental, transportation, tours, excursions and concierge services). The city of Chania on the north west coastline is the second largest and one of the most picturesque and beautiful cities in Crete. Chania consists of the new town and the old town. The new town is typically modern where most locals live and work and is less traditional than the old town but it still has many areas of charming beauty. The Public Market is an impressive building in the town center, where there are grocery stores, butchers shops, a fish market, vegetable shops and souvenir stands. The Public Gardens, next to the Market, are ideal for those in search of shade and tranquility. The old town has preserved its distinctive atmosphere and charm of the Venetian and Turkish periods. Entire Venetian, Turkish and Jewish quarters with well preserved buildings can be found in its narrow picturesque streets. The old city leads to the harbour where many Venetian and Turkish buildings still stand. At the entrance of the harbor, at its most northern point, is the renovated fort "Firkas", built in the 17th century that today houses the Maritime Museum of Chania.
