We are Magnea (Icelandic) and Greg (British) and we live in London with our kids. We have happy busy lives and full time jobs. Our free time for the next few years will be making Gaulverjaskóli our second home.

Our house is perfectly placed to explore much of Southern/Eastern part of Iceland with all the major waterfalls/volcanos and geysirs. There are plenty of hikes to be done, birdwatching, fishing and riding etc etc The vastness of the sky is the biggest feature in this place and stargazing and northern lights watching is amazing! We have been busy in the last couple of years creating a garden courtyard, planting trees and landscaping our garden. The hot tub should be up and running in the summer of 2022. We offer the community hall out for hire at an extra cost to groups that want space for team building, yoga etc We hope you enjoy the place for its tranquility and beauty.

Gaulverjabæjarkirkja Church and manor are there since ancient times. Burial site of the painter Ásgrímur Jónsson. Flóahreppur (the county) is a peaceful municipality situated in South Iceland, between the two large Salmon Rivers Hvítá and Þjórsá. Flóahreppur is famous for it´s wide panorama view in all directions, range of mountains, glaciers and islands. In the area is Iceland´s most voluminous Waterfall Urriðafoss, where Þjórsá River falls off the margin of Þjórsárhraun a Lava Field that came about 8.000 years ago and is one of the largest known Lava-flows anywhere on Earth!! Flóahreppur is a paradise for people who love nature and bird-watching. In Flóahreppur you will also find variety of recreational possibilities and services. Culture in the area has historical deep roots and great emphasis is placed on the preservation of cultural heritage.
