Casa Velha do Palheiro Relais & Chateaux is a 5-star manor house hotel situated in the old Palheiro Gardens in the foothills of Funchal. With access to the Palheiro Golf Course, guests can also have various golfing discounts. Free WiFi and flat-screen TVs with a various choices of international channels are available. A variety of eating venues include the Classical dining room with international haute cuisine, the more relaxed Restaurant Vista Balancal with its views over Funchal bay, the tea house in the Palheiro gardens or snacks at the Spa. Guests can relax by the outdoor pool in the gardens or use the free facilities of the Spa at Casa Velha featuring a heated indoor pool as well as sauna and steam room. The hotel organizes deep sea fishing on its own motor yacht Balancal as well as experiences with whale and dolphin watching. On site there is a tennis court, badminton, croquet as well as its own championship golf course – Palheiro Golf. Casa Velha do Palheiro Relais & Chateaux is 7 km from the centre of Funchal and offers direct access to the award-winning Palheiro Gardens. Free private parking is available as well as a daily free shuttle service to the town centre.
