You must trek up the highest mountain in the uk.
You must trek up the highest mountain in the uk. If you’re lucky enough to get a good day then the views are to die for. Even the achievement in its self is worth the effort. Stay at the Ben Nevis inn at the foot of the mountain. Brilliant food in the restaurant. Nicely washed down with a few drinks.

Claimed Ben Nevis with my daughter. Fantastic views and weather though a bit icy and snowy at the top. I wish they would keep dogs off the mountain as some very irresponsible owners made it unsafe for others.

pricey to get the cart up and really disappointing to see how aged the carts are and dirty. Lack of information for visitors and staff just stand around chatting - whoever runs it needs to be replaced tomorrow!

You can view and photograph Ben Nevis from Corpach, which is a train-stop away, or 3 miles by road. You may have to return a day or two later, because the peak is often covered in low-cloud and mist. After 12 noon is the best time, because of the position of the sun. You can also see the Jacobite Steam Train at Corpach & Fort William. To ride on it you need to book up the previous October. I didn’t climb Ben Nevis because the view is only clear 1 day in 12, but good luck if you go for it!!

Stunning to look at.
Stunning to look at. The start of climbing it is 2 miles from the centre. Take good walking gear for sun rain and snow. The cloud comes down fast with rain then leaves and it’s sunny. Good walking boots.

Beatiful views of the mountain from Fort William and climbing possible most of the year. There is a Ski Lift which operates in good weather and gives access to get nearer to the top of the mountain without climbing. This was not possible when we stayed in April as the weather, although not that cold was damp and very misty. There are lots of local distilleries to visit if you enjoy whisky. The city is small and has nice restuarants. Loval hotels get booked up very quickly so book early in the year to avoid disappointment.

A large hotel in the centre of Fort William, with easy access to the high street. The hotel was very basic, but in a good location. The hotel had a car park which was very convenient. If you are planning to go up on Ben Nevis, this is most likely the closest accommodation you can get.
Everything until I was charged twice I have contacted the hotel several times and still not been refunded seems like there is some sort of scam I was charged once by Ben Nevis hotel and once by strathmore hotels every time I contact hotel I am told the manager is not there and shall phone me back 3 weeks later still waiting.
Breakfast was great, loads on offer.
Hotel is situated at the side of the Caledonian Canal at Neptunes Staircase. This is a beautiful place to visit. You can even see Ben Nevis from hotel as well
Great location, friendly attentive staff, nice clean twin room & great breakfast. Overlooks the loch and close to Ben Nevis. Hotel is opposite a high street with plenty of restaurants, pubs and shops within walking distance but far away enough that is doesn't disturb you at night.
A hidden gem situated away from the main tourist hotels and B&Bs. Peaceful. Views to die for. We were extremely lucky with the weather which made the views of Ben Nevis even better.
Our dog loved the canal path, lovely for our evening walks.
The lodge had everything you needed. We will definitely be back.
This is a high-end apartment. The fittings and furnishings are top class. The place was spotlessly clean and tidy. It is also very quiet up on the top floor of the complex. Ali provides instructions just prior to your arrival.
The view towards Ben Nevis Mountain was stunning, particularly in the morning, on a sunny day.
It was also fascinating watching boats go through the loch system beside the apartment.
The pub next door is great for a meal and a few drinks with no worries about having to drive.
We rented 2 of the Sheraton Apartments for our trip and they were both perfect. Location for hiking Ben Nevis was fab (5 min drive to the visitors centre or 20 min walk) and everything was clean, modern and cosy - just what you want post hike!

Roy Bridge Hotel was a great place for us to recharge the batteries before hiking Ben Nevis. The hotel is located just a few minutes ride from the Parking in Fort William so we could start early. The host has been really nice and welcomed us speaking with the Scottish accent. The apartment was very comfortable. We loved it!

Check with the visitors centre at the base of Ben Nevis what conditions are like, start walking if suitable weather and ask walkers on their return from the mountain of their experience, and remember weather can change at any time during the day for the better or worse, lucky for me it was for the better.

climbing Ben Nevis was the most beautiful and unforgettable day of my life especially walking pitch black without any torch or lights or seeking help from any Mountain Rescue Team,it took 3 hours to climb and took me 6 hours coming down because I injured my knee...that was pure hell but a very unforgettable moment of my life I just cant believe how I manage to reach down to my hotel in such pain and agony, thanks God I'm back home and preparing back to work next week

I have been to Fort William twice around the same time of year which was at end of April / early May, it has been great conditions for walking up Ben Nevis both times. Starting at the tourist info centre car park it has been a very busy route both times but well worth the effort at the top. The first accent was into a blizzard at around 900m upwards but the second time was crystal clear Stunning and snow capped. For the last 20 mins to the top it was very very cold ( -5 plus another -5 wind chill) but back at the bottom it was around 14'C so don't be fooled. enjoy!

If going up Ben Nevis must have correct clothing and footwear and have a reasonable level of fitness as climb and descent can be gruelling for the first time climber . Would not attempt in winter without a professional guide. We began our climb from the Ben Nevis Inn which is a good place to start your climb particularly if it's your first experience of a mountain climb.
