I am so happy we found this incredible ranch, my husband and I agree that it is the nicest place we've ever stayed. Juan has created a place of beauty and tranquility, simple and authentic with wonderful attention to detail. The room was perfect with comfortable beds and good linen, lovely furniture and a great shower. We also had a terrace and hammock where we could enjoy the gardens and the llamas, donkey, goats wander in the morning. We had two wonderful rides in the dessert, the horses were great, well-behaved and not at all dulled like trekking horses often are. Like all the animals here they were obviously happy and extremely well cared for and loved, including Elvis and Charlie the two sweetest dogs. Breakfast is in the main house, which is a wonderful comfortable home, and is very good, buffet style. Juan and all the staff could not have been more helpful, friendly and accommodating, we especially enjoyed meeting Teresa who was working with the horses. We really admire what they have created here, and it is so well maintained. It is a short walk into town, but Juan has bikes available to borrow which are really useful and it's a five minute cycle to the centre of town and all the bars, restaurants and shops. We will miss it. If you are visiting the area we couldn't recommend it more, it really is an oasis of calm and tranquility in the desert. Thank you Juan.

Situated in a quite and relaxing environment just 4.4 km of the centre of San Pedro de Atacama, Terra Luna Atacama offers private rooms with access to a large garden and barbecue facilities. We had an amazing experience at Terraluna. The accommodations were impeccably clean and tastefully simple. Maricarmen was exceptionally al warm and welcoming, making our stay truly enjoyable. She went above and beyond to ensure our comfort, offering delicious breakfasts and helpful advice on local activities. Additionally, the location is easy to find, which made our visit even more convenient. Overall, it was a wonderful stay.

Located in San Pedro de Atacama, 300 meters from the bus station and from the craftsmen village, and 900 meters from the city center, Hostal Montepardo offers tranquility, comfort and Chilean... The location is only 10 minutes walk from the center. The area was nice and quiet, and the staff were really friendly. Robert was very helpful with bus transfers and booking trips.

Just a 20 minute walk from the town centre, Planeta Atacama Lodge offers accommodation in the desert of San Pedro de Atacama. Free WiFi access is available throughout the property. Franklin was amazingly nice and helpful, room was large enough, bad was comfortable.

Situated 7 km south of San Pedro de Atacama, Casita La Brea offers two types of accommodations, a two bedroom house, and a private apartment. Free private parking is available on site. A few days before the trip, Ian provided us with detailed driving instructions on a custom Google map, because the navigation programmes, if left to their own, will apparently lead you astray. This was part of a continuing "care package" with advice on how to make the best of our time in San Pedro, including valuable suggestions on routes, ticket requirements, etc. We landed at the nearest airport in Calama, picked up a truck from the rental agency, and headed towards San Pedro. Calama, from what we see, is about as ugly as you can get, and the road out of town towards San Pedro looks like a road construction company's work yard, so we were somewhat taken aback. The drive to San Pedro takes a little over an hour and first impressions of San Pedro were: Oh no, why did we come here, this place looks like it has not changed since 1850. We were soon cheered up by a breakfast stop at La Franchuteria, which served the best cappuccino and baguettes this side of Paris. On towards the accommodation: My gf was getting desperate, as we were heading deeper into the desert, away from town. We ended up on a donkey trail, with nothing but sand and brush and deep washboard surface. Since the car rental agency had warned us about crime in Calama, my gf berated me where I was taking her. After 5 minutes or so, we found the gate in the stone wall taking us into the accommodation. It was as if we had passed through purgatory past the gates of St. Peter. Ian greeted us there and introduced us to our new home, talking about how his mother had built it with love and care. We immediately fell in love with the hues and the setting. Sitting on the bed, you have a picture perfect view through the trees towards the volcanoes in the distance. The cottage was equipped with all you need and more. My gf immediately fell in love and thinks this is one of the best places we ever stayed. Ian continued to coach us on destinations, how to combat altitude sickness, and many other things.

Set 35 km from Zorros del Desierto Stadium, Sol del Desierto offers accommodation with free WiFi and free private parking. A terrace is available for guests at the lodge to use. Sylvia was like a mom to us. She couldn’t have been nicer. It felt like a home away from home.

Stayed with 10 people and was great, really helpful host, clean house, good facilities. bit far from the centre (15/20min walk) but if ur in a big group really doesn’t matter. really nice outside area to chill in & bbq was nice

Featuring an outdoor swimming pool, a garden with hammocks, a terrace and a solarium, this family oriented Lodge offers self-catering accommodation just a 10-minute walk from Atacama main square. Andres was amazing! There was a pool and a little playground for our kids. The property is near the center but not too close. There are also plenty of shady spots around the property with hammocks which is lovely when it’s so hot. You can pay to have your laundry done, which was very convenient.
