This is a vinyard (they don't make wine on site) and is tucked at the end of a valley, so all views were of the Douro river and wineries. The accommodation is distributed in different buildings and there is beautiful landscaping and outdoor seating, plus a pool looking over the valley. The food is very good (breakfast and dinner). We missed out on a wine tasking - you do need to book - but did our own by the glass on the restaurant terrace. Not really for kids, but for adults, a lovely place. The staff were super friendly and really did make us feel welcome.

Very good restaurant and wonderful service. Rooms are surprisingly spacious. Castelbel toiletries— a local Portuguese brand. Front desk organized a day trip for us, which was fabulous. The views from this hotel are breathtaking. Breakfast is delicious, lots of local selections and fresh fruit. Perfectly cooked sunny side up eggs. The bar is fantastic, we ate every evening meal on site three days in a row. It was that good, and we are generally picky. We are already talking about coming back again. Linda and Vanessa were two of our favorites.

Everything of our stay was perfect. Huge difference make the people working there. The team is simply amazing. We will return for sure. We have stayed in a barrel and we loved it. Amazing views , amazing staff , clean , modern rustic design . Everything was just perfect . Staff was so lovely - everyone was tripping over themselves to accommodate our every need . The only negative was that as vegetarians they had limited offering at the restaurant but the one dish we were able to order was fantastic . Highly recommend this hotel !
