We spent one night at the Exchange Motel on our way between the Death Valley and Big Bear Lake. The room was very clean and modern, the bed and pillows comfortable. We had a really good stay at the Motel, there were nice restaurants and pubs around. I think it was definitely worth the price.

Located 19 miles from the Hell’s Gate entrance to Death Valley National Park, this pet-friendly motel offers retro American design. Great "spacey" room in a quiet little settlement surrounded by palm trees and mules who came to say (or balk) hello in the morning! Free coffee in the morning too. Friendly staff. Although Beatty is a real desert town where nothing much happens (except a drunken brawl sometimes) this location is fantastic, so close to Death Valley.
