A few days before arrival I received an email with detailed instructions on how to get to the hotel lobby from the JR station. Staff were polite and helpful.

Situated along Tanohara River and surrounded by tranquil nature in Kurokawa Onsen hot spring area, Oku no Yu Ryokan offers charming Japanese-style accommodation and various hot spring baths. Beautiful ryokan onsen, lovely garden in which the baths are located. Great food, love both dinner and breakfast and the great diversity of it all. Very friendly and helpful people.

The owner provided everything we need. All facilities are in good condition. Despite that we do not understand Japanese, the owner has a translation note in English on most of the equipment.

What an incredible place to have stay. We feel so lucky to have met the hosts and been able to stay in this amazing home. Staying here is just an incredible experience, the home is stunning and fun to explore, the views are great and the hosts are incredibly friendly and welcoming. Our only wish is that we had stayed even longer.

Set just 32 km from Egao Kenko Stadium Kumamoto, 阿蘇び心 Asobi Gokoro offers accommodation in Aso with access to a garden, a shared lounge, as well as a shared kitchen. Yosh is very kind and helpful. He welcomed me with a special corn tea and shared with me lots of useful information to explore the area. His map is very useful. The room is clean and comfortable. I had a very nice sleep. The location is perfect for families with kids because Cuddly Dominion is just located on the other side of the road. Your whole family can enjoy the animal shows, feed penguins with fish and take photos with super cute bear cub. Thanks again Yosh!
