The hotel is super cozy and stylish. The staff is helpful and friendly. But the best part is the restaurant - the dinners were amazing! the cuisine and the wine list exceeded our expectations. We traveled with our 2y old son, and he was also amused by the wildlife - llamas, cats, hummingbirds and even foxes! We loved the place so much that we stayed here for 2 nights instead on 1 as planned. All the best wishes to the staff and the hotel owners.

The apartment interior is well kept and clean, and a little nicer than I expected. The view is spectacular--we were really glad we stayed here. Will definitely stay here again. In addition, it is a short walk to hit the Camino de los Colorados which was my favorite thing in Purmamarca. If you have kids an added plus is that there is space around the outside for them to play. The wifi was also better than some of the other reviews described. When you reserve make a note of whether you are paying online or in cash in person.

Excellent owners/hosts at this Hosteria that was an extension of their home. They were very knowledgeable about the area and sites, plus a very nice breakfast was served each morning. Loved staying in Maimara - a truly authentic town, versus the tourist feel of Tilcara.

Tilcara is a beautiful little village in Jujuy. It's full of artists and music and there's a magical feeling in the town once the sun goes down. Every restaurant has great local music and the food is amazing. It's a small village so it's easy to wander around and it's the prefect base if you want to travel to other towns in Jujuy.

We used San Salvador de Jujuy as a base for visiting Tilcara...
We used San Salvador de Jujuy as a base for visiting Tilcara, Purnamarca and Humahuaca and it was a rather long but interesting drive to visit those places. In April the road was quite foggy most mornings and evenings and the drive took an hour or more. We drove ointo Jujuy a couple of times but the traffic was heavy and we were glad we were staying out of town.

Tilcara is in a beautiful location, and I rather enjoyed taking in the surroundings from a heated pool! This is a comfortable hotel, with 24/7 (I think) friendly staff, turn-down service and on-site parking. Clean and stylish, under 10 minutes' walking from Tilcara center. Pretty ideal for driving around Jujuy or taking some R&R time. Breakfast was solid, and the restaurant in the hotel is quite good. May be worth noting it's a little tricky to get a car up to the hotel, but that's not their fault.
