Roberto and his staff were real sweethearts. I arrived with an upset stomach (first trip to South America and not part of the lucky 50% to be spared traveler's diarrhea), and they took great care of me. I fell in love with Roberto's tea room, the view of the bay and his story. The food was also super tasty, tan rico! I planned to stay there two nights but ended up staying a week. My favorite place in Ancud!

The staff was responsive and helpful throughout our stay. The setting was beautiful, with abundant birdlife and scenery. The breakfast one of the best we’ve had anywhere, and we did eat at their restaurant two nights and food was excellent. It is a little outside of the main road, but we easily made several day trips and great to come back in the evening to a true Refugio. I would say a car is necessary for this stay.

An outdoor swimming pool, a sauna room and gym facilities can be enjoyed at Hotel de Castro. There are comfortable common areas, Wi-Fi is free and the town’s main square is 200 metres from the hotel. The location is great. The building from the outside looks a bit worn out but the inside is in pretty good shape. The rooms are not large but sufficient. The view priceless! The breakfast very good. Great location and the basicilica within a few hundred meters walk where there are plenty of good restaurants.
