Facing the beachfront, Gut am See offers 4-star accommodation in Görlitz and has a garden, shared lounge and terrace. Everything!! This is a brilliant hotel and we recommend it to everybody. Great reception by the Owner/Manager. Facilities are marvellous, room very comfortable. The restaurant is outstanding- a small menu but for us that is just fine. The food and wine is of a high quality and the staff on hand, Serafina (She of the Angels!) and Damien are absolutely brilliant and speak fantastic English. Both are a great credit to the Hotel.

Hotel und Restaurant Bühlhaus is situated only a 3-minute walk from the Badegarten sauna theme park and is surrounded by the Erzgebirge mountains and forests. A breakfast buffet is also provided. I loved the location, right outside town so nature was all around. The bed was comfortable and the room spacious. The food in the restaurant was excellent and we ate in both nights. They even cooked goat cheese which I brought with me, because we don't have it in my country. They have a beautiful outside space to eat but it was too cold for us to sit there in the evening. However it is a great place for lunch or afternoon coffee. The atmosphere is more of a warm home than an impersonal hotel.

In full admiration for the perfect reconstruction of a city that was totally destroyed by the Allies at a moment that Germany had already lost the war. Beautiful baroque buildings, much greenery, lovely promenade along the Elbe. Lots of terraces, good restaurants (Ven!!!) and street artists. Cross the Elbe and visit also the much quieter Neustadt. Excursions to Meissen and Swiss Saxony are an absolute must

Görlitz has a beautiful old town and nice newer town centre with good shops. The old town is full of squares and churches with wonderful old stone Buildings packed full of cosy restaurants and bars. Just across the footbridge in Zgorzelec there are lovely restaurants along the Polish side of the river The river in town forms the border with Poland and there is a footbridge across to Zgorzelec from Görlitz old town as well as the road bridge. Everyone from both sides gathers on these bridges on New Year's Eve to let off fireworks together. The place is full of history. The German side is in Saxony and the Polish side in Lower Silesia. The surrounding countryside is beautiful on both sides of the border. You can walk around the whole town and over to Poland easily as it is all very compact. Görlitz Xmas Market runs until 24tg Dec and is extensive within the old town and utterly charming.

Dresden is a beautiful old city full of culture and history as it used to be the old capital of Saxony. I love German food so I am in heaven and dont try much other foods there. Its quite small so easy to walk in all the old historic town. I have been there many times in all seasons of the year. Also very nice and near by are Schloss Moritsburg, Fetstung Konigstain, Potsdam and Prague.

A wonderful city, so much to see and do. I miss the DDR feel of the city, that was evident on my first visit, in 1992. But, I must say, the people of saxony, have made a remarkable job of restoring the city to its pre-war glory.

One of my favourite cities in Germany- I like the feel of Dresden, it feels "authentic" whereas some other German cities don't feel distinctively German. Saxony has some wonderful regions to explore, and around Dresden I liked Meißen and of course driving along the Elbe to Sächsische Schweiz. Of course Dresden's Zwinger is fantastic, and wandering around the Altstadt is great. If you can arrange tickets for the Semperoper it's well attending.

Beautiful city centre, fascinating history, good shopping, lots of top quality cultural events. Mendelssohn House Museum one of the best museums I’ve been to, loads of interactive features, beautifully designed. Auerbach Keller is atmospheric and historical place to eat with traditional food from Saxony.

Friendly greeting from the staff upon arrival, very helpful in advising of the resources/faciliites available. Room was a good size, ensuite bathroom and a small balcony with a view of the lake. Advised by the staff that a party was being held in the restaurant that evening, and offered an upgrade to a small house due to expected noise levels. The small house was lovely, a short walk away from the main hotel. The house contained a small kitchen and suana, with a private patio and beach area at the rear. We visited in off season for this resort, as we were passing through Germany. The resolt offers plenty of activities and a relaxing places. All staff were friendly and polite. Restuarant food, drinks, and service was exceptional.

It is a wonderful hotel in an exceptional location. The room was exceptionally clean and comfortable, and the staff was nice and friendly. The sauna, for EUR20, was okay; it looked new and clean. If you're traveling by car, make sure you drive past the public parking to the hotel parking (it is 100m more towards the hotel). Then, it will be EUR7 instead of EUR12 to park the car.

Lake view is top. Also you can swim in the lake. Modern and well-equipped hotel, friendly staff. Pretty calm and silent audience.
