We really enjoyed the location, the warm atmosphere of the hotel when you step trough the front door, the warm welcome by staff and the exceptionally clean rooms. We pre-booked our tabel at the restaurant in the hotel online. We really loved the menu and we enjoyed well excecuted and delicious dinners. I recommend that you have the lamb shank and mash. I had it twice :)

We booked 2 lodges. One was higher up and had a nice view over a green and the other was more secluded. Both were nice. They were a good layout and really comfortable. The facilities are good. We ate at the restaurant both nights. Service and food were good. Cheddar Gorge and the shops, restaurants, coffee shops etc are close by and within easy walking distance and definitely worth a visit. We walked from the site to Cheddar Gorge which was ok on the Saturday and Sunday but on the Friday there seemed to be a continuous flow of huge lorries going to and from the quarries on the main road near the site. I assume it must be like this on all weekdays.
