Located just 15 metres from the sea in Hydra,Hotel Sophia is housed in a restored 19-century building and offers a shared lounge, a 24-hour front desk and free WiFi access. The loveliest family run hotel. They will go out of their way to make you comfortable. For instance, we did not want to use the air conditioning. Why air-conditioning when the beautiful Hydra breeze is beyond perfect? No mosquitoes. So Nick brought us a fan which was just a perfect. Every little request was met with a smile. We had the room with a balcony looking out onto the port and could watch the daily activities. Just fantastic! And Mama’s homemade breakfasts!! Delicious! every day she cooked up something fresh and different. that’s why breakfast doesn’t begin until 830 because she is busy in the kitchen. We would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone.

The location was lovely, quiet and remote. The property was picturesque and tidy. We loved the beach area with the sun-beds and umbrellas. The restaurant was really good; the included breakfast was wonderful! The staff were friendly and very helpful, transporting our bags and making reservations for us. The private, complimentary ferry was an amazing perk. I wish we could have booked one of the tours on the larger boat, but we just didn’t have time. Next time!

The staff was super nice, attentive, helpful. Our room was spotless clean. We will go back and stay there without a doubt.

A wonderful little hotel in the heart of Hydra. Incredibly peaceful and wonderful ambience, a small frontyard created for enjoyment at any part of the day. Lemon trees in the yard, a beautiful giant cactus and a huge magnolia make it magical. The staff is extremely friendly, the breakfast is quite varied enough for a couple of days not to get bored... from the room we looked at the small park on the side of the hotel and we had shade all day. the rooms are very nicely decorated with a stone wall and a small adorable bathroom. I will recommend this hotel to everyone because it is in a perfect place with an environment to enjoy. In one word: magical!

Very classy place for 4 days! Lovely staff- always helpful & polite to us & to each other! The location was central and easy to access with luggage. We had room 102 which had a lovely balcony and a drying rack for swimwear etc.. the bedlinen, towels and bathroom toiletries were very high spec - lovely furniture and very homely. Air-con was quiet , very efficient (& needed). Breakfast was served in a beautiful courtyard with a magnificent tree. It was served each day by a busy & wonderful lady - plenty of variety and lovely fresh orange juice, fruit, veg and cooked food. Very relaxing & wonder spot to maximise your Hydra stay.
