時のホテル is situated in Toki, within 44 km of Nagoya Station and 45 km of Aeon Mall Atsuta. The property is around 41 km from Oasis 21, 42 km from Toyota Stadium and 43 km from Nagoya Castle. Everything was great. I'd absolutely stay here again and again. The staff was not fluent in English but they were very helpful and used a translating app to speak to us. The room was clean, breakfast was great, the sauna and hot springs (2 large bath tubs) were amazing as well. 5 Stars.

Ideally set in Takayama, THE MACHIYA HOTEL TAKAYAMA features air-conditioned rooms, a garden, free WiFi and a shared lounge. This 4-star hotel offers a 24-hour front desk and a concierge service. We absolutely loved this hotel. It's relatively small, so you get a lovely personal experience with kind staff and little treats like afternoon snacks and unlimited tea and coffee. The lounge-dining area is great to relax in after a day of sightseeing, with a view onto the little internal garden. Our room was fantastic; I chose a quadruple room to have more space. This was like a little apartment with its own lounge area, two double beds (plus two bunks above), bathroom with cedar tub, separate toilet and a nice view onto the garden. Perfect room for friends or family sharing. Modern interior design in charcoal greys, everything very clean and tidy. They will arrange breakfast for you from a local cafe, or you could bring your own to the dining area - there's a toaster, plates and bowls available. I didn't try their lovely sento bath, but we did use their handy coin laundry. The location is great, just 10mins from the station, then a bit less than that to the busy historic area. Lots of great restaurants nearby, as well as the 7-11 a few mins away. I would definitely return or recommend to friends!

Well situated in Takayama, Temple Hotel Takayama Zenkoji offers air-conditioned rooms, a garden, free WiFi and a shared lounge. This 4-star hotel offers a shared kitchen and luggage storage space. We (my wife and I) stayed in the Zenko-Ji Temple hotel for one night and had a fantastic experience. We were greeted warmly right from the beginning by the friendly staff and could check in despite arriving a bit before the check-in time. After the quick check-in we had a small tour of the place and got an introduction to the temple and the various possible activities we can partake in. We had a lovely room (Sakura room), nothing fancy but very fitting to the place itself- traditional, simplistic yet comfortable. The next day we joined the morning prayer at 7:00 am which is highly recommended. Afterwards we also had a meditation session with the head monk who runs the temple/hotel. It was a great experience with some useful insights about meditation. Overall I would highly recommend staying here. It's not a place for a fancy stay but a place that can offer an insight to Buddhism in Japan, where you can have lovely conversations with the friendly staff and enjoy a peaceful environment.
