Situated in the heart of Tongariro National Park, Skotel Alpine Resort offers a restaurant, a hot tub and a terrace bar with a fireplace. Most accommodations boast stunning mountain or region views. Clean private room at a good price. Very close to good walking trails. Hour drive from nearest supermarket, but onsite restaurant was great.

Located in the Tongariro National Park, The Park Hotel Ruapehu offers affordable accommodation in a stunning alpine setting. Guests are provided with free parking and 500MB of free WiFi. We really loved the family rooms - they were warm despite the cold temperatures. The hot water systems (i.e. the showers) were excellent. Finding the hotel and accessing the car park was also very easy. The restaurant (the spiral) also served very high quality food. The cost of the rooms was outstanding value for money.

We got great coffee, fresh tomatoes and thyme straight from Marlene's garden. And speaking of them, Marlene and her husband are great hosts and deserve all the best. Great rooms, cozy living room, full kitchen and a fireplace heater.
